Several winners so far have been singers, others were dancers, comedians, and more.

The judges are always strict when they watch the auditions because they know anyone can believe in themselves and hope to be a winner, but only a few are super talented.

And, of course, when it comes to strictly criticizing the candidates, Simon Cowell knows exactly how to do that and how to put them in a difficult position.

In fact, some of his most offending quotes have been collected online, and some of the worst are:

“In every single way that was just everything I hated,” and “You’ve just invented a new form of torture.”

But recently, Cowell got surprised by a young boy, who went up on stage to sing for the four judges and the audience.

It was Malakai Bayoh, a 13-year-old from London, who has been singing since he was seven years old.

As the teenager explained during the interview before his audition, he was sent to the choir when he was seven, because his mom is “very bossy”!

When everything was ready for the boy’s singing performance, his mother and sister went to their seats and couldn’t wait for him.

At that time, his mother couldn’t stop saying to her daughter how nervous she was.

And then Malakai showed up; a very sweet boy, with nothing fancy on him.

He just had his talent to show off when the time would be right.

The judges initially asked him what his name was, what his talent was according to him, and who was with him in there.

Right after that, it was time for the song to start.

Indeed, a few moments later, the music started and Malakai’s mouth opened.

His voice reached everyone’s ears and it shocked almost everyone in there.

Cowell just couldn’t believe how the young boy’s voice sounded.

It was obviously amazing.

Another judge, Bruno Tonioli, couldn’t even hold back his tears while listening to the angelic rendition of “Pie Jesu”.

Once the song was over, both the judges and the audience gave talented Malakai a standing ovation.

The boy couldn’t believe how much everyone liked his voice, while his mother was very proud of him.

Moments later, Simon Cowell decided to be the first judge to review his audition, and, although he’d normally be strict, this time he had nothing negative to share.

“If there’s any one word I could use to describe that … golden,” he said.

And that’s when he pressed the Golden Buzzer!

Malakai couldn’t believe he was sent to the finals just like that!

He even made snow angels on the floor thanks to the golden confetti that had just rained down.

Cowell soon went to the stage and gave the boy a hug, and told him he was “seriously good”.

What an amazing performance and what a proud moment for little Malakai and his family.
