As parents, there’s always the fear of your kids getting hurt by other people. That’s why you do everything you can to make sure that they’re always by your side.

Cameron Cook saw how horrible some adults can be.

The teen was out with his mom at the South Bay Plaza Target. They were doing some shopping when he saw something odd.

In the toy aisle, he saw a man acting weird.

His mom felt the danger of being around the guy. She could smell the scent of alcohol coming from him.

Cameron waited to see what was going on.

The teen watched the stranger from afar. He got that demonic look on his face that made Cameron more uneasy.

In an interview with CBS Local, he shared:

“I seen the guy grabbing himself, and my mom goes, ‘Cam let’s go, keep walking,’ I was like, no, something’s going on.”

The man was fixated on a young girl in the aisle.

She was pushing a shopping cart at that time, unaware of the danger around her. She was startled when the man suddenly thrust himself up against her.

The child was alone at that time.

Her parent was at the bathroom. The man probably took it as an opportunity to do something bad to her.

Fortunately, Cameron was there.

In the same interview, he narrated:

“So I went up to him, I was like, ‘Excuse me sir, do you know her?’ And then the first thing he said was, ‘I’m not a pervert, I’m not a pervert.’ I was like, I didn’t ask you that sir.”

Cameron’s man was super proud of what he did.

“He was big, and Cameron had no fear at all. He just stood firm on the fact that he knew what this man was doing was wrong,” she said.

Despite being smaller and younger, the teen demanded that the man leave the store.

He did what he was told to do. However, he denied everything. He was even cursing on his way out.

The child’s parent was super thankful for what Cameron did.

If it wasn’t for him, something terrible could have happened to the young kid. Cameron, on the other hand, was just happy that he was there to protect the child.

Cameron’s action was praised by tons of people.

One YouTube user said:

“This is the kind of young man that I really hope goes on to become a successful law enforcement officer. Fearless integrity is a magnificent and rare quality.”

Another one commented:

“He had balls and strength. Risking his life to protect a child he didn’t know. That is a hero! Who knows what would have happened to her if he didn’t intervene? He should be a cop as he would make a great one.”

There was also this person who said:

“He deserves public recognition for this. So many people forget what it was like to be young and choose to condemn all youth for the sins of a few. This kid is an absolute hero!”

The store surveillance video had been reviewed and turned over to the authorities.

Police officers are encouraging parents to never leave kids alone, particularly in public places.
