Teen with speech impediment leaves everyone deeply moved during audition

Whoever said life is easy didnât take the time to look around and realize how different everyoneâs realities are from everyone elseâs.
You could be living the life youâve always imagined while someone beside you suffers inside, unsure of how to get through the next day.

Kindness matters.
We donât invalidate someone elseâs pains because they donât seem as intense as our own; we donât automatically utter comforting words just for the sake of it.
It is essential to sit, listen, and empathize.

The people who are brave enough to be vulnerable in front of the whole world are the ones we should learn from.
Their courage inspires others to keep their heads high and push past obstacles, much like this young musician who told her story beautifully through song.

Amanda did not let her speech impediment get in the way as she pursued her dreams.
A far cry from her early years when she would shy away and hide, sheâs now spreading her wings.
Moreover, she is taking the challenge and using it as a stepping stone toward her goals and as a guiding light for others.
Her love for music allowed her to communicate her thoughts and emotions better, which she bravely showed in front of the world.

Standing on the âAmericaâs Got Talentâ stage, the 19-year-old introduced herself confidently and shared her story with the judges and the audience.
What surprised the judges was that Amanda added that she would lose her stutter every time sheâd sing.
This is because singing involves a different section of the brain.
Announcing that she would perform an original song, the judges eagerly looked on as she took a deep breath and prepared to sing.

The whole room was stunned when Amanda sang the first few notes.
Her voice, strong yet soothing, filled the room, eliciting smiles, jaw-dropping, and looks of amazement from everyone.
She sang about fear, growing up, and overcoming her speech impediment.
âShe tried her best to be best and just forget the restâŠâ
Her song spoke of how certain experiences shaped her into the girl she is today and how she wouldnât change a thing.

Online viewers were moved, too.
The clip, which earned over 7 million views, had countless encouraging comments for the young musician.

âAmanda is the embodiment of the word âcourage.â How difficult it must have been to stand on that stage, knowing your limitations. What an inspiration.â

Amandaâs song was empowering and heartfelt and captured the hearts of everyone.
She ended the performance on an emotional note, met with a standing ovation and the judges thanking her for her authenticity.
After being asked what brought her to tears, Amanda disclosed how sheâd always felt like she wasnât good enough as a kid, to which a woman from the audience responded, âYou are good enough!â
