Terrified dog is found walking the street alone with a message in a bottle

The past few years have been cruel to all of us.

We are all going through some tough times because of the recent pandemic. The ravaging pandemic was unkind to everyone. Not only did it claim many lives, but those who survived were left fighting for their livelihood.

Many people have lost their jobs and are facing huge financial problems. Pet owners find taking care of their pets unsustainable because of their financial issues.

Nobody was mentally prepared for a global pandemic and nationwide lockdowns. When the countries first went on lockdown, people started adopting pets to accompany them during tough times. This resulted in an increase in demand for pets, but as the pandemic continued and many people lost their jobs, they found themselves incapable to take care of their pets.

Many people give up their pets with a heavy heart. So was this dog, but his owner left an emotional note.

The incident took place in Franklin, Indiana. A dog was left stranded in the streets after its owner decided to surrender it. The dog’s name is Roadie and she is a German Shepherd mix.

Roadie couldn’t find a way back to her home, so she took shelter beneath the tree.

Roadie didn’t know the way back to her home. All she could do was sit and hope for someone to notice her and help her. A kind passer-by noticed Roadie sitting under a tree and decided to offer her help.

The person contacted a local shelter for help and saw a note on the dog’s collar.

Michael Delp, director of Johnson County Animal Control, was contacted and he immediately assisted Roadie and brought her to the shelter.

Later, they found the note attached to the collar. It mentions about the dog’s past life, her owner, and the condition under which the owner had to surrender the dog.

Roadie once had a loving home but the recent pandemic took that away.

Roadie had an owner who loved him and took care of him. But the owner lost his job and later his home because of covid. Since the owner had nothing left with him, it wasn’t possible for him to take care of the dog and so he was left with no choice but to abandon it.

You can feel the emotions of the owner by reading the note he left behind.

I was a spoiled girl, my dad gave me my own couch to lay on and my own memory foam bed. He also fed me steak, chicken, and rice.

Since the owner lost his job and home, taking care of his pet was expensive and out of his budget.

My dad lost his job and soon his home from covid. Please pray for him and give him hope that I’ll find a good home.

Johnson county animal control posted the story on Facebook and many local news channels covered it.

When one of the locals, Jeremy Pell, heard the story, he decided to give the dog a forever home. Jeremy Pell is the chief of the White River Township Fire Department and he was in search of a dog to train. He was looking for a dog and training them in search and rescue.

“I opened up the news and saw Roadie. I saw the breed and the story and the fact that she is literally in my backyard.” Jeremy Pell told The Dodo.

Roadie now has a loving home and a job that she enjoys doing.

Roadie accompanies her new owner to work every day. She is very energetic and enthusiastic, and she obeys all of her owner’s training commands.

“She looks to me for guidance and acceptance and she tries to do her job. She thinks that she should bark at people she doesn’t know, but when I tell her that it’s OK … I get these soulful, caring eyes and it’s almost as if she’s apologizing. She will sit beautifully, look me in the eye, lay her ears down and very slowly lift her paw up to touch me” Jeremy Pell.

Roadie loves her new owner and has already bonded with him. Roadie and his new owner are both living a happy life.
