The hapless criminals in this story thought that they’d found an easy target. But it turns out that they were the easy targets.

We’ve all seen Home Alone and laughed as the two burglars fall time after time for McCauly Kaulkin’s traps. But two thieves could never really be as stupid as the criminals in that movie, right?

Wrong. The two thieves in this video look like they’ve based their entire failed careers on kids’ movies. One of their useless attempts at a robbery was even caught on camera for the whole world to enjoy.

A CCTV camera shows a tall person approach an old man on a street. The tall person talks to the old man. The old man crosses his arms.

As he’s talking, a second tall person walks into the shot. He gets closer to the old man.

Then the first tall person gets right up in the old man’s face, clearly threatening to rob him.

The old man is having none of it. Without warning, the old man serves a quick right-hand uppercut to the tall thief.

The young man gets knocked back a few feet, not quite knowing why he’s suddenly in pain.

The second thief walks to the old man. But before he can do anything, the old man swings a left-hook straight into the thief’s face.

The left hook floors the second robber.

By now, the first robber has recovered a little. He attempts to punch the old man. But the old man expertly dodges it. As he moves away from the thief’s fist, the old man plants another right-hand uppercut on the first thief’s face, this time knocking him to the ground.

Two young men now walk onto the scene. They ask if everything is ok. But they don’t know if they should be concerned more about the people on the ground or the old man.

Luckily, the old man reigns in his anger and gives the thieves enough time to limp away.

Someone then found this footage and uploaded it onto YouTube.

The video has made quite an impact on the site. To date, it has gained over 200,000 views. It also has more than 800 likes and 100 comments People have been saying things like this:

The two men in this video sure don’t want to mess with another old person any time soon.

Just think, could you hold your own as well as this old man if two random thieves tried to attack you in the middle of the night? Sure, we all like to think we would, but the truth is very different. Most of us would get mugged or have to run away very, very fast!

Of course, the old man in this video isn’t the only retiree to teach younger criminals a lesson. In fact, it could be considered an entire genre of YouTube video.

In that video, the old man may not have knocked his would-be assailant to the ground, but he sure did show him why you shouldn’t mess with him!
