Meet Thor, the most gorgeous Bengal cat in all the world

Admittedly, Bengal cats are one of the most beautiful breeds.

With their shimmering coats, their distinct markings, and unique personality, it’s hard not to fall in love with them.

Bengal cats have been bred from hybrids of domestic cats, the Asian leopard cat, and the Egyptian Mau, while the first recorded mention of them was when Harrison Weir wrote about them in 1889.

Later on, in 1924, a cross between the Asian leopard cat and a domestic cat was mentioned in a Belgian scientific journal, while in 1941 a Japanese publication printed an article about a similar cat that was kept as a pet.

The breed was officially accepted by The International Cat Association in 1983, with the latest recognition being in 1999 by the Australian Cat Federation, when they accepted Bengal cats in their registry.

The Bengal cat is a domestic breed of cats that come in many different colors and a variety of patterns on their coat.

They can be red, black, brown, or grey, while they sport tabby markings or even a spotted/rosette pattern.

The latter kind of markings can only be found in Bengal cats when it comes to domestic cats. And that’s what makes them unique.

Behavior-wise, Bengal cats are smart, energetic, and playful. They are generally confident and naturally curious. They enjoy climbing and being up high, as well as playing in the water.

One representative of this breed is Thor, a 7-year-old Bengal cat, who lives in Kortenberg, Belgium, with his mom
or servant, as she likes to call herself, Rani Cucicov.

Because Bengal cats’ ancestors were partly wild, the breed tends to exhibit a wild behavior at times, and owners sometimes find them difficult to handle.

The Wild Cat Sanctuary in Minnesota has admitted that they receive several calls per month from Bengal cat owners who try to give them up.

Luckily, Thor faces no such problems with his family. He is adored by his mom and, basically, everyone else who meets him.

The beautiful cat has both rosettes and tiger stripes on his coat, which make him incredibly pleasant to the eye.

According to Cucicov, she first met Thor in 2013 in a Dutch cattery, where she initially went for another cat.

“We actually came to look at another kitten, but then the breeder said she had another one that was available and then she came with Thor in her hands,” Cucicov told HuffPost. “We immediately fell in love with his beautiful ‘orange brown’ colors.”

Since then, Cucicov and Thor became best friends, while everyone in her neighborhood loved his unique appearance. However, there were people online who doubted Thor’s existence, claiming that it was just a photoshopped image of a cat in a tiger body.

“Of course this isn’t true,” Cucicov said. “Thor is real and definitely not photoshopped or anything.”

Today, Thor has his own Instagram account where photos of him are regularly posted, leaving his fans speechless with his beauty and charm.

Besides, that, the cat also has an official website, where his family shares stories about him on their blog, while they also have an online shop, too.

It seems like Thor has found the servants- err family- he deserves, who love and respect him while he returns the affection as many pets do.

We’re happy that Thor has found his purrfect forever home with his awesome human, and can’t wait to see more of his majestic photos.
