It’s always nice to bond with your friends and be able to share hobbies that will not only excite you but will also make you fit and healthy.

One fine day in Parish, Louisiana, three teenagers were going about their bike rides when, suddenly, they noticed something odd.

Little did they know that they were about to change a dog’s life.

The three boys were at Castille Highway in Rayne when one of them, Wade Harrell, noticed a dog lying down on the side of the road.

His friends, Tyler Cancienne and Brayden Mauroner, also noticed the pup and saw that his eyes were moving.

That’s when they all decided to stop and go back.

Seeing a dog lying down on the side of the road, we would probably go and shrug it off. For most of us, it may look like a dog who’s resting or sleeping. Some dogs also love to watch cars from the side of the road.

These boys were different. They trusted their instincts!

They knew something was wrong, and they didn’t turn a blind eye. They stopped and went back to the dog to see if it was alright. If not for these three teenagers, this poor puppy might not have made it.

“We went [on a] ride. We were going down Castille Highway, and we got down, and we seen a dog on the side of the road. At first, we thought the dog was dead because it wasn’t moving,” Wade told in his interview with KLFY.

The boys were alarmed when the dog didn’t even flinch even when they came closer. Then, they realized that the poor dog was in a very serious condition. It was in a lot of pain and was too weak to even try to stand up.

It looked like the dog had been hit by a car and was left there to die.

The monster who did this did not even bother to turn back and help the poor dog.

Wade and his friends knew that the dog’s life was on the line. He quickly called Haseya’s New Beginning Animal Rescue in Rayne and told them about the emergency.

Then, they took their bicycles and created a barricade to protect the injured dog.

“We put the bikes in front of the dog so nothing tried to get by it… like orange cones pretty much,” Tyler said to KLFY.

Haseya’s New Beginning Animal Rescue posted this heartwarming story and added that when they arrived at the scene, they used a blanket and created a hammock so that they could carefully lift the dog without causing any pain.

They drove back to the shelter and treated him. Upon further examination, they noticed that the poor dog was limping on his back left leg.

They needed to confirm if he was suffering from a hip injury.

While waiting for the results, the people from the shelter did their best to make sure that the dog would feel safe and comfortable.

They named him Wade – after the teen who found him.

They cleaned him, gave him pain medications, and they treated him to a good meal along with a comfortable bed.

“It made me feel happy because I knew that we saved the dog,” Wade told KLFY. “Because we gave the dog a second chance that he possibly could’ve never had.”

Their parents and their community must be proud of them for their act of kindness.

Hopefully, the person who did this to the poor dog would see the damage that he had done.

A person posted a comment on Haseya’s New Beginning Animal Rescue’s post, claiming to be the owner of the dog that Wade and his friends found.

According to Rebecca Henry, the dog’s name was Taz, and he was their missing dog – they had been looking everywhere for him.

They were also very thankful to Wade, Tyler, and Brayden for helping save their beloved Taz.

Let’s not forget that we are capable of helping others and that we should do our best if we are faced with a similar situation.
