Three teenagers find motionless dog on the side of the road
Talk about being in the right place at the right time. These teens were able to rescue a dog left for dead on the side of the road.
Riding your bike and going for a stroll isn’t just a great hobby; it is also a great way to stay fit and healthy. That’s the reason why Wade, Brayden, and Tyler love to go out, and whenever they can, they go and ride their bikes.
One day on Castille Highway in Rayne, the three young men were out on their usual bike ride when they noticed a dog lying down on the grass.
Seeing a dog lying down on the grass is not an uncommon sight. Most of us would have shrugged it off as it may look like a dog taking a nap or just watching motorists pass by.
There was something about this dog that bothered the boys.
They wanted to know if the dog was okay or not.
“We went ride. We were going down Castille Highway, and we got down, and we seen a dog on the side of the road. At first, we thought the dog was dead because it wasn’t moving,” Wade Harrell told KLFY.
Wade’s friend, Tyler Cancienne, said that the dog’s eyes were moving. That is when Brayden Mauroner asked his friends to stop, so the three teens decided that they should take a closer look.
Upon taking a closer inspection, they realized that the poor dog was in a lot of pain.
It looked like the dog was in serious condition. It wasn’t moving at all, and this got them all worried.

The dog seemed to have been hit by a car.
Sadly, he was abandoned and left for dead on the side of the road.
Wade knew that they needed to act fast. He immediately called Haseya’s New Beginning Animal Rescue in Rayne to ask for help.
While waiting, the three boys used their bikes to form a barricade on the side of the street.
“We put the bikes in front of the dog so nothing tried to get by it… like orange cones pretty much,” Tyler to KLFY.
According to Haseya’s New Beginning Animal Rescue’s post, once they arrived at the scene, they carefully lifted the dog using a blanket.
They drove him back to the shelter, where they examined him and given him first aid. They also said that he was limping on his back left leg, which likely means that the poor dog has a hip injury.
That same night, they said that they gave him some pain medication, gave him warm food, and a soft bed to rest.
“It made me feel happy because I knew that we saved the dog,” Wade shared his happiness. “Because we gave the dog a second chance that he possibly could’ve never had.”
These boy’s heroism and concern for the dog was remarkable. At a very young age, they were able to save this dog from dying.
The person who was responsible for the accident should learn a thing or two from these teens.
According to the shelter, they were able to track down the dog’s owner.
It turns out that the dog’s name was Taz, and he had been missing for over a week.
Taz’s family was so happy to be reunited with their dog, and they were also very thankful for the three young men who helped Taz.
In our busy world, having teenagers with a big heart to help a dog or any other animal in need is truly something to be proud of.
