Cat sneaks into his neighbors’ house every night just to sleep with them
If you choose to let your cat outdoors, there’s very little you can do about how they choose to spend their time – or even if they choose to find a new family.
For Tigger, that family was simply an addition to the one he already had.

John and Alex Sanders never asked for a cat, but they did choose to leave their door open on nice days, so that’s pretty much the same thing.
About 6 months ago, Tigger wandered in and decided that’s where he’d like to sleep from now on.
“He just walked in like he owned the place,” Mr. Sanders told The Dodo.
Of course, they checked Tigger’s tag and returned him to his owner.
That just didn’t stop him from coming back.

“He came back the next day and every day since,” Sanders said.
What were once just sleepovers have now turned into the Sanders’ pretty much having a part-time cat.

In fact, Tigger usually stops by twice a day now!
“Tig’s self-appointed schedule is as follows: It used to be just at night between 9-11 p.m., and stay the night. Alex would let him out when she would go get coffee,” Sanders said. “Now that we’re home during COVID, he visits between 12-2, 4-6, and still comes back overnight. There are days where we don’t see him, but that’s rare. We usually see him twice a day without fail.”

Tigger still spends time with his original family too, they just gave up on trying to make him do what they wanted.
And so have the Sanders’. After trying to train him to go home and failing time after time, they just gave in.
People were amused by the story when Sanders posted it to the Facebook group “My house, not my cat,” saying:
“Tigger, month six (lol). One day in summer we left our front door open and in came Tigger. We called the number on the tag, met his real parents (one street over), and we thought that was that. Wrong! Tigger comes over twice a day minimum, sleeps over, the whole bit. We are HIS pets.”
What Tigger wants, Tigger gets.
While they could always keep the door closed, the couple has grown so fond of the cat that they now listen for his meows and feel obligated to let him in.

“His parents have said Tig really just does what he wants and he has chosen us,” Sanders said. “They have said they are just happy that he’s warm and safe and not wandering the streets.”
The couple has even set up an Instagram page for their daily visitor and it has thousands of followers.
