Tim McGraw knew that his daughter had picked up some of his and his wife’s talent. But when they were on a long drive together, he realized just how good she was.

Parents always think that their children are the cutest, most talented, smartest people in the world. We’re just wired to see our kids in that way. This applies to famous people just as much as anyone else.

Gracie McGraw is the daughter of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, two wildly successful musicians. Naturally, she grew up in a household filled with music. Before long, she was singing along with her parents whenever she had the opportunity.

McGraw and Hill always thought that their daughter sounded great. But they also wondered if they were just hearing her through their “parents’ ears” instead of their “musicians’ ears.”

But eventually, Gracie grew up and moved out. It was only when Tim McGraw heard her voice for the first time in a while that he could tell that his instincts had been right all along. Gracie was indeed an incredibly talented singer.

After Gracie moved away from her family home in Nashville to Los Angeles, Tim McGraw was excited to meet up with his eldest daughter once more. They decided to go on a nice long road trip with one another.

The dad and daughter McGraws decided to turn on the radio. What Kind of Fool sung by Barbara Streisand and Barry Gibbs came on. So Gracie started to sing along.

The daughter’s singing stunned Tim McGraw. He had missed his daughter’s voice. And hearing her sing for the first time in a while made him appreciate aspects of her vocals that he had long taken for granted.

Then when the chorus came in, Tim McGraw decided to sing along, harmonizing with his daughter. But he was determined to complement his daughter’s voice instead of taking over. This was her time to shine!

Then Gracie noticed her father getting emotional. He had started smiling. This made Gracie laugh, and pretty soon the lyrics descended into laughter between the father and daughter.

The two soon recovered and managed to sing along some more.

Luckily, Gracie McGraw was filming this heartwarming family bonding moment. Tim McGraw soon uploaded it to his Instagram page, where it went viral.

First, the original Instagram post received over 167,500 likes and 9,000 comments. Then news reports of the singing started wracking up millions of views. One YouTube upload alone has gained over 5.3 million views to date.

People were quick to praise Gracie McGraw, from family to other famous singers to Tim McGraw fans. Specifically, they have been saying things like this:

Who knows, perhaps Gracie McGraw will follow in her parents’ footsteps? She has sung on one album track with her father, and she was also in a band in high school. It remains to be seen if she will take her talent further. But anyone who hears her sing in this video will be convinced that she can be just as successful as her parents!
