Redheaded toddler looks grandma dead in the eyes and asks “I’m poor, ain’t I?”
It takes a village to raise a child, as the saying goes. This child though is helping raise his village too.
Jake Boone has a lot of innocent knowledge to share with his family. So, his family started filming him during his everyday activities. Jake is not afraid to share his knowledge or opinion at any time. His thick Kentuckian accent is the best part. The little guy sounds like an old southern gentleman.
Jake Boone is from the small community of Sunfish, Kentucky. The little trooper spends a lot of his time at the family farm with his grandparents. This is where this boy’s expertise in life comes from. His “grammy” is the woman behind most of the videos. She asks him some important questions about life on the farm.
Grammy knows how special her grandson is and does not want to miss a moment.
At the age of three, Jake won the $10,000 first-place prize for America’s Funniest Home Videos.
Jake’s parents sent in a video of him “helping” his mother with the grocery list. He has been the best helper for any member of his family. He wanted to write down every item his mother would need from the store, even though he could not write yet.
This video went viral on YouTube, soon after its America’s Funniest Home Videos debut.
Jake’s family knew that his personality is just too big to keep to themselves. They decided to create his own YouTube channel, “Life According to Jake Boone”. Today, it has over 35.8 thousand subscribers. His family also created his own Facebook page and it now has over 706,000 followers. Everyone wants to know what the youngster has to say.
Jake’s mother told their local news station WBKO, “He’s like a old person in a little person’s body. He says some of the funniest things. And he’s really a sweet kid. He has a good heart.”
Sitting at the table and talking with Jake one morning, his grammy started recording. They were just talking about life on the farm as they always do. Grammy knew this conversation was bound to lead to a bit of unknowing humor. Through the course of their conversation, he started wondering and asked her if he was poor.
He’s telling grammy about his flatbed truck and his trailer that he uses for work down near the cows. You would think he was exaggerating or maybe he was talking about the trucks and trailers being used by the adults. You are in for a surprise. He really has his very own flatbed truck and trailer to help on the farm.
Jake is not afraid of pitching in on the farm, all on his own.
The conversation moves onto the topic of the straw on the farm. He lets his grammy know he does not have to load it himself because that is what pappy does. Once the subject of pappy comes up, Jake’s mind starts to wonder. Pappy has two trailers but he only has one and that can only mean one thing in Jake’s mind.
“I’m poor, ain’t I?” Jake asks his grammy.
The question will surely make you smile. His grammy couldn’t help but giggle. As Jake’s grammy describes the video she says,
“Jake wondering if he could possibly be poor?! No way! He’s rich in love that’s most important!”
Rich in love is the most important, grammy’s are always right.
Watch the adorable conversation below and find out who else Jake believes might be poor.
