Southern toddler turns to grandma and asks “I’m poor, ain’t I?”

Children often come up with some of the most incredible stories, and their questions can catch you off guard. Look at Jake Boone. He’s a sweet, little Kentucky native who appears to be a lot wiser than his age would suggest. Many would say that he’s an old soul in a kid’s body.

When Jake’s grandma asked him what he does in life, he thought about it for a moment and then asked if he was poor. Luckily, granny filmed the entire conversation. Check it out.

“Life According to Jake Boone” is already a successful YouTube channel with over 40K subscribers.

Jake lives in Sunfish, Kentucky, and he’s a curious toddler who spends a lot f his time hanging around the family farm. His grandparents recognized the boy’s unusual knowledge, and the family started filming conversations with Jake.

The content led to a YouTube channel and a Facebook page of the same name. The boy became a star, and his thick accent makes everything he says even funnier.

Imagine a little kiddo talking about life and asking you tons of interesting questions that no adult would probably ever ask. Well, that’s Jake.

In 2018, when Jake was 3, the Boone family won the $10,000 first-place prize for America’s Funniest Home Videos.

That’s right. This bright, young gentleman was a superstar at such a young age, and the whole nation had a good laugh after watching his troubles with the grocery list. Jake’s mom was about to go shopping, and Jake wanted to help her write the list.

The only problem was that he didn’t know how to write at the time. His creative ways are beyond funny. You can watch the video here.

Back to the “I’m poor, ain’t I?” video. Almost 3 million YouTube users have watched Jake contemplating about his lifestyle of a poor man.

The funny footage was uploaded in 2018. You’ll hear Jake’s grandmother in the background. She’s holding the camera, and she’s asking Jake a lot of exciting questions.

They’re sitting at the kitchen table, and something serious is cooking inside that little head.

What was supposed to be small talk quickly escalated to a serious conversation about Jake’s flatbed truck with the trailer.

He’s not blowing things out of proportion. Jake truly owns a flatbed truck with a trailer, and the family uses it for work down near the cows.

He also explains that he doesn’t have to load the staw himself because that’s what his grandpa does. Note that he calls his grandmother “Grammy,” and grandpa is “pappy.” Isn’t that heart-melting?

After a while, Jake’s thoughts are all over the place, and he makes an interesting conclusion.

Grammy inspired Jake to think things over, and he remembered that grandpa has two trailers. Jake only has one. “I am poor, ain’ I?” That’s the question that came out of Jake’s mouth. Who wouldn’t laugh?

The boy has concluded that he’s poor because he only has one trailer. We think that his sense of humor is legendary.

In an interview with their local station WBKO, Jake’s mom said: “he says some of the funniest things.”

Like every child, Jake always surprises his parents. The family says that he’s a good boy with a kind heart. We do not doubt it. His excellent behavior is evident.
