Toddler goes on hilarious rant when she's put in time out

Most of the time, being a parent is a fantastic experience. Then again, you have instances when you just want to pull your hair out. But while your toddler might be acting out, they’re usually funny. That makes it even harder since you want to show you’re being serious while laughing on the inside.

With kids, you never know what’s coming next. For a minute, things are fine and then their little world turns upside down. This is especially true when it comes to putting kids in time out. To them, this is the worst possible thing that could happen.

The Steve Harvey show

Although it’s now canceled, Steve Harvey was the host of a television show called “Little Big Shots.” He’d sit down with small children to discuss all kinds of things. But what made this show special was that he spoke to them as an adult. He also played a lot of funny video clips of kids doing the craziest things.

Grown-up attitude

It was one of these clips that got the internet all fired up…in a good way. In it was a three-year-old girl who was, well, let’s say, feisty. The content was of her getting in trouble at preschool and basically, telling her teacher off.

Not condoning just enjoying

Before Harvey asked his audience to watch the video, he reminded them to find the humor in it. The point wasn’t to condone the child’s behavior but to show people just how funny little ones can be, especially when they feel they’re right.

Cutest diva ever

After acting up in class, the teacher put the little girl in time out. Sometimes, that’s the only way to calm a child down while also diffusing a situation. The last thing any teacher wants is for something to escalate…even at three years old.

The conversation

Politely yet firmly, the teacher says to the child, “You’re supposed to be back in time out. I didn’t say get out. You’re in jail and time out.” Rather than just go back as told, this girl responded with, “Well, let me tell you. Listen, Linda.”

“I’m not Linda”

Good try sweetie but the teacher’s name isn’t even Linda. As a follow-up, she says to the girl, “My name ain’t Linda. So, you sit right there in time out, little bad, little girl.” Okay, as an adult, perhaps she should’ve been a little kinder but at this point, she was frustrated.

Serious ranting

But that wasn’t the end of it. No, this girl had more to say. “Look, let me tell you something. If I wasn’t here, I would surely take a day off from you and then a day off from these kids. All around the classroom, I was done with you.”

After a little back and forth with the teacher, this three-year-old added, “Well, when I get up out of time out and go in the back, I will be glad to go home and enjoy the rest of my life.”

Harvey’s final request

After watching the video, he then asked the audience to pretend like they were sparring with someone they knew — who was drunk. That put an interesting spin on things. Regardless of which light the guests saw it in, there’s no question this encounter is hilarious.
