It took a while for Madeline to understand just what her grandparents were saying. But when she did, she couldn’t hold back her excitement.

One evening, Madeline’s mom and dad dropped her off at her grandparents’ home. Madeline didn’t know why she was staying around her grandma and grandpa’s place.

That evening, Madeline made a card for her little brother. She knew that he was coming into the world soon.

The next morning, just after breakfast, Madeline’s grandma and grandpa told her some important news.

“In the night time, mommy and daddy went to the hospital. And when they were at the hospital, somebody came out of mommy’s belly,” Madeline’s grandmother said.

Madeline, being only two at the time, struggled to understand the news.

The grandparents asked Madeline who they thought had come out of her mommy’s tummy. Madeline said, “Me.” She wasn’t right, but she was close.

Eventually, the grandpa explained that her little brother had arrived. Then he explained that soon they could all go and see him.

Madeline paused and said, “My baby brother come out my mommy’s tummy?”

The little girl still couldn’t quite believe it. So the grandparents repeated it with her a little more. Madeline was clearly getting more excited as they said it.

Then Madeliene pushed on the table, making space for her to jump off of her chair. She ran off down the corridor. The toddler wanted to look her best for her baby brother, so she was looking for her favorite fox dress.

She couldn’t find the dress right away. So Madeline looked at the card she had prepared for her brother. Luckily, it was still on the kitchen island where she had left it.

She then ran over to her bag and packed the card inside.

Then she ran back down the corridor, making another search for her fox dress. She hadn’t noticed that it was in the room with grandma and grandpa. They had cleaned and ironed it already.

Madeline’s grandma pointed the dress out. So Madeline let her grandparents dress her up.

Soon, she was able to meet her baby brother, Harvey, for the first time. She was overjoyed to meet the baby. They were soon best friends.

Luckily, Madeline’s grandma was filming the moment when Madeline learned about her little brother.

She then uploaded the footage to YouTube, where it soon went viral. To date, the video has gained over 3.8 million views. It also has more than 25,000 likes.

A little later, another video of Madeline appeared on YouTube.

In this video, Madeline holds onto her baby brother. She sings Rockabye Baby to him, and the baby smiles, clearly happy to be in his sister’s protective embrace and hearing the song.

But Madeline had changed the lyrics to this song a little. The final line in Madeline’s rendition is, “when the branch breaks, the cradle will fall. And mummy will catch you, cradle and all.”

Towards the end of the video, Madeline also holds onto Harvey’s hand. Clearly, Harvey is very lucky to have a sister like Madeline.
