Dance instructor's baby takes stage and racks up over 27M views
One of the best things about being a parent is getting to pass your talents onto your children. Just as our sons and daughters inherit our physical traits, it’s common for them to inherit some of the things that seem natural to us, but others struggle with, like singing and dancing.
While children may decide they want to do their own thing when they grow up, it’s during their early years that they tend to show off any talents or skills derived from mom or dad. One little lad, Hunter, is a perfect example of a toddler with serious talent.
Hunter might only be 18 months old, but he’s got the moves! The young man often comes along to his momma’s dance classes, where several songs are played on repeat while the dancers learn their routines.
It was here to Hunter started to develop a taste for his favorite tunes – Beyoncé’s “Get Me Bodied” is, in his opinion, a particularly enjoyable dance anthem. According to his mom, he stays still during the slow parts, then gets seriously into it when the music picks up.
Of course, when your bub has such a taste for dancing at less than two years old, it would be unfair to confine his talent within the four walls of your home. So Hunter’s mom decided there was only one thing for it: Hunter would perform his slickest moves on stage, in a live performance!
Speaking of the moment, Hunter’s mom said:
“At our small studio recital, we put him on stage and played the music to see what he would do…and he didn’t disappoint!”
In the video, recorded by Hunter’s mom, we can see Hunter getting down to the groove, wearing an adorable flat cap and a t-shirt tucked into baggy khaki shorts.
As the RnB music kicks in, at first we think Hunter must be suffering from a bit of stage fright, as he stands motionless on the spot.
But then the beat drops, and we realize he was saving himself for an explosion of dance moves – wiggles, foot stomps, hand claps, the whole lot. The crowd goes wild with cheers and laughter.
This little kid clearly takes after his momma!
Then, almost as soon as he began, Hunter decides he’s had enough and looks off-stage to where his mom must be waiting patiently. She heads over to pick him up, and the audience bursts into a round of applause – and Hunter, bless him, joins in too!
We can’t blame him, as he definitely put on a show worthy of self-applause.
Hunter’s mom is particularly happy that she thought to record the adorable moment, not just because it put a smile on so many people’s faces. It also gives her something to look back on, especially now her little boy isn’t so little anymore! She said:
“He is now almost ten, so he has grown up quite a bit, so we are glad we shared this memory on Youtube for our friends and family to see.”
It’s true that kids seem to grow up faster than ever these days, and getting to look back on Hunter’s special toddler quirks must be lovely for his family, albeit a little embarrassing for poor Hunter!
Whether he’s a superstar dancer today, we’ll never know, but it’s clear that at 12 months old, little Hunter had the moves.
