Toddler tip-toes into room to give kisses to dog nursing her puppies

For those of us who grew up with pets, it is common sense that pets are beneficial for children.

We know that having a furry friend, or a turtle or fish, at the tender years of toddlerhood and childhood makes children more responsible and caring.

Having to take care of a pet as a child means that you keep certain schedules, make sure they are healthy and thriving, while it also means that you have your first friend.

Pets are a child’s best friends because they are always there for them, they will never let them down, and they can love unconditionally.

But, besides these benefits, it seems that there are some more surprising ones that we hadn’t even thought of before.

Pets are believed to help children learn. This is because reading or doing homework with pals or parents can be stressful unlike when they do their homework next to their favorite pet.

Also, pets can keep children healthy. It has been found that having multiple pets decreases the child’s risk of developing certain allergies.

However, parents are often hesitant of getting a pet for their children because they are afraid of possible violent behavior.

Yet, such concerns shouldn’t lead parents to deprive their children of the blessing of a pet. Sure enough, animals can get defensive and aggressive if they are treated in certain ways, but if the parents make sure to train the pet and also keep an eye on the pet-child duo at all times, especially while the children are very young, there is really hardly any risk involved.

And, if you’re a parent still in doubt about whether you should get a pet or not, this story might be the sign you’ve been waiting for.

Not so long ago, a video was uploaded on YouTube showing a little girl sneaking into a room where a mama dog was nursing her puppies.

In the video, we can see a toddler in the room where a female dog- that looks like a retriever- lies with her eight puppies.

The dog at the time was nursing her babies, and the girl just felt the need to check on them.

The girl goes close to the adult dog and pets her. The dog turns to the girl as if she’s saying “thank you for coming to check on us”, and the girl turns to leave the room.

Halfway towards the door, the girl regrets leaving without one more hug, so she returns to give her best friend more love and affection.

The little girl returns to the dog and she pets her one more time. That’s when she realizes there’s one puppy that has lost its way in the line of nursing.

The sweet toddler gives mama dog a kiss, and she goes on to pet the puppy as well. This seems to make mama realize that that one puppy has been wandering, and she helps it find its way back.

The toddler doesn’t seem willing to leave the dog and the puppies and she stays longer, watching her best friend feed her babies.

This super cute video is proof that children and pets can not only co-exist, but develop a bond that nobody can break.
