Sick pitbull connects with toddler who saves her & they have the sweetest friendship
They say “shop, don’t adopt” or something similar, but the truth is, it’s not always that simple.
Choosing the perfect dog from a shelter can be a hard decision.
You’re not just getting a pet, since a dog is pretty much a member of the family.
“Mommy, that one!”
But a little girl named “G” didn’t even hesitate choosing which pooch to take home.
Her mother, Audra Spurio, recorded an adorable video of her child pointing to a sickly pit bull in the back of the kennel.
“Let the doggy out. Need help.”
The poor pup was shaking.
It made the choice easier when the sad canine place her front paws on top of the bars.
The 2-year-old was super decided to adopt her.
The Washing Post says that pit bulls spend three times as long at shelters compared to other dogs. The breed has a bad reputation they don’t deserve.
“Being labeled a pit bull can doom a shelter dog’s chances of adoption.” Unfair.
This here was a dog who “didn’t have a name, she stunk like mange and had snot running from her nose.”
G saw beyond all of that. All she wanted was to give her new hope.
The scared dog initially panicked, refusing to even walk when they attempted to take her out of the kennel.
It was G who took the leash, and the dog allowed her to lead the way around the shelter.
A lot of these shelters have a dedicated space for potential owners to get to know the dog they’ve chosen.
It was no different with these two girls since they immediately bonded in the play area.
The dog followed G wherever she was led, even running after the little girl playfully!
Little girl and dog even managed to squeeze themselves into a nearby dog house.
Looks like they wanted to have a private chat away from the boring adults.
G was a natural doggy mommy. She seemed to instinctively know how to take care of her own right then and there.
This precious child noticed that the dog had a runny nose and crusty eyes, and she never hesitated to wipe them all away using the hem of her blue dress.
“Doggy sick, need help,” she told her mother.
G didn’t care what the pit bull looked or smelled like.
The dog’s name is Audra, and as she was put back into the kennel, the dog began shaking uncontrollably.
G saw her and said, “Sick dog, need help, go home.”
Everyone knew that the dog was going home with them.
Audra was given the new name Scarlett and soon they were doing the necessary paperwork to process the adoption.
It was like these two gentle souls were meant to cross paths in life, and they were going to spend the rest of their lives together.
