It’s basically common knowledge: toddlers don’t exactly always do as they’re told. After all, it’s fun doing things you’re not supposed to, and sometimes they simply don’t feel like listening to their parents. Whether it’s trying to convince them to eat their vegetables, clean up their toys, or not to make a mess – actually getting them to listen is usually the hard part. Some moms and dads might even say that it’s downright impossible to make a toddler listen to you.

However, some parents have definitely come up with some clever, unique, and hilarious tactics to counter the behavior of their toddlers.

For example, this two-year-old girl definitely wasn’t in a mood to listen to dad. Dad just picked her up from kindergarten as he was on his way back home from work. When they arrived home, the little girl, Juliette, simply thought that she had already walked enough for the day and didn’t want to go inside – at least not on her own.

She stoically decided to lay flat on the floor, on her back. Dad unloaded some groceries out of the car, but Juliette clearly wanted to stay there.

According to mom, Juliette definitely is a toddler with a loving personality, albeit a bit mischievous one. She describes her daughter as “A little girl who loves to laugh and make others laugh”, and that definitely seems to be the case if you check out her actions on the driveway. It does make you wonder how much patience little Juliette has, and if she would lay there all relaxed for an entire day.

When dad is finally done hauling all the groceries inside, he knows he still has to face the biggest challenge of all.

What do you do when your toddler simply decides to lay down and refuses to get up at all? It’s probably a very recognizable scene for every parent out there, and you just know it would be quite a pain to get your toddler to move.

So what’s the best course of action? Perhaps convincing them is the best idea, or maybe you should ignore them and wait for them to follow you inside? Another option, of course, is picking up the little girl to get her inside yourself.

Even though you might think that the final option is a bit too much and should only be used as a final resort, this dad decided to go with it – but in a totally calm, hilarious and harmless way.

Dad actually didn’t give it a lot of thought and figured that it was a fun and quick way to deal with this situation.

Since he was just doing the groceries, he decided to grip her by her jacket and act like she was one of the shopping bags. As for Juliette – she doesn’t seem to mind and likes being transported inside the home so she doesn’t have to walk!

No need for a tantrum or endless convincing, this dad simply solved this problem in a pretty unique manner. The lack of expression on his face also makes the footage even funnier. “Same old, same old”, he must think.

“What’s even funnier is that she is more than 3-feet-tall and over 37 pounds heavy and the jacket didn’t break. She often does stuff like this and this is just how we love her,” mom added.
