The best thing about being a toddler is that you’re always right. This girl, for instance, insisted her dad couldn’t count to five properly.

Guess what? You’ve been counting wrong your entire life, at least according to Aliyah, this little girl.

Everyone knows that toddlers always insist that their way is the right way. After all, how could her father know more than her about counting? She learned about it on Sesame Street and was sure she remembered how they counted to five. She even decided to show off her newfound mathematical geniusness off to her father.

She began by saying the numbers and counting them on her hand. “One, two, three, five.”

But somehow, her dad disagreed with her. He said that that wasn’t how you counted to five. He said that she’d forgotten a whole number, the number four.

The girl thought that that couldn’t possibly be right. So she said “No,” and counted again This time she said it louder so that her dad could learn. “It’s one, two, three, five.”

Still, the dad doubted his toddler’s wisdom and tried to add this strange “four” into his counting. The toddler realized that she had her work cut out for her.

So she counted in the “proper” way again, “one, two, three, five.”

The dad and the girl kept on arguing about how to count for a lot longer.

Eventually, the dad decided to match his daughter’s level of sass. “How are you going to tell me? I teach this every day.”

So just because he was a math teacher, he thought he knew how to count to five?! The girl became more determined than ever to prove her father wrong.

The exact same counting argument went back and forth again. But this time, when the dad said the fake number, otherwise known as “four,” the girl interrupted, keen to correct him.

Then Aliyah’s mother, dived into the argument. Aliyah looked at her mom, hoping that she would help with correcting her father’s mistake. But then she counted to five and included the dreaded “four.”

Aliyah realized that both of her parents were idiots.

“No mama. That’s one, two, three, five.” Then the girl looked at her mother intently, pleading with her to finally understand.

Both the parents said no to the girl at the same time. The dad then explained how you can’t just leave four out.

After some more arguing over four, the dad tried counting slowly. This time, when he got to four, Aliyah was quiet. Then she spoke with her father in saying “five.” The parents thought that she finally agreed with them.

But Aliyah wasn’t going to be fooled quite so easily. She counted “one, two, three, five” straight after.

Eventually, the girl’s mom came up with a new tactic. She asked Aliyah to count to four. The girl counted successfully to four. This time, the mom congratulated her child.

Reluctantly, Aliyah had to admit that four had been a number all along, albeit an incredibly sneaky one.

Luckily, this video soon made it’s way to YouTube. It soon went viral. No, it didn’t get one million views, not two million views, not three million views, not five million views but a whopping nine million views.

So it may have taken a while for Aliyah to learn to count to five, but it took her no time to become an online sensation!
