Children are a blessing.

It’s been said time and time again. It holds up because there is truth in those words. Though raising a child takes immense responsibility and dedication, there are few things in this world that are more rewarding.

One of the best parts about being a parent is seeing the effort and time you put into teaching and guiding them pay off.

In a world full of peer pressure and constant influence from others, it’s difficult to tell whether your child is actually picking up on the gems that are repeatedly being laid out for them. But instilling solid morals and values in your children can hold weight.

One family was able to see that their guidance has taught their young son to be gentle with his new baby sister. In a video posted to Reddit, a toddler, seemingly no more than three years old, carefully holds his baby sister.

In the video, he sings the ever so classic, “What a Wonderful World,” by Louis Armstrong. It’s even better that he doesn’t miss a beat.

The young boy takes pride in being an older brother. Judging by the video, he’s clearly been taught the responsibilities that come with being an older sibling.

He doesn’t take his duties lightly.

What’s more, is that the little girl seems to know that she is being held by someone who loves her dearly. She smiles during the interaction all while studying the little boy’s face. It almost looks as if she wants to join him in the tune.

But for now, she is simply basking in the moment as he gently caresses her fingers.

It’s amazing to witness a bond that can never be broken form right before your eyes. It’s enough to make anyone smile and even shed a tear.

The only complaint is that the video is a mere 26 seconds short.

Despite its length, the video is long enough to see that remarkable things are happening.

The comments on the video all share similar sentiments:

“That bond will never be broken. This is beyond cute this is beautiful WOW”

“Did anyone else gasp in awe and shed a tear? I can see many years of arguing followed up by, “I’m sorry. I love you”. That’s a special love.”

“Omg tho but him singing to her…she like knows…ugh I love kiddos”

Children observe their surroundings and study those around them. This little boy is being raised in an environment that has taught him love, patience, and gentleness.

Raising a child is about much more than making sure they’re happy and healthy (though those are very important things!). It’s about being the role model for them to witness because after all, seeing is believing.

These parents should be proud of the job that they have done thus far with their children. If the daughter grows up to be anything like her brother, she will be amazingly caring and gentle herself.

Here’s to hoping that these siblings keep that bond that was formed in this video. Sibling rivalry can be fun but if there is ever any disagreements in their relationship later on, let’s hope that they can revisit this moment and remember the importance of sibling love.
