A tortilla is one of the most versatile base ingredients out there.
You can make quesadillas, tacos, wraps, and so much more. But have you ever thought of using tortillas to make pizza?
It may not be the first thing you can think of making out of tortillas, but this recipe from “Great Recipes” will change your mind.
The best thing about this tortilla pizza recipe is itâs completely healthy.
Of course, that is subject to what you add as toppings, but this one suggests using more fresh vegetables and herbs.
That doesnât mean it lacks taste, though, because once you get a bite, youâd like pizza done the same way.
You only need three tortillas to make a 10-inch pizza.
Place the tortilla on top of one another and roll them. Slice them into thin pieces, and you will have a bowlful of pasta-looking tortilla thins.
You can add more tortillas if you want the crust to be thicker.
Shred cheese and set it aside in a bowl.
This recipe used cheddar cheese, but feel free to add more like mozzarella parmesan, aged harvati, and much more.
After all, thereâs no such thing as âtoo much cheese,â right? I bet cheese lovers would agree!
Chop and slice the fresh toppings like tomatoes, bell pepper, and parsley.
You have to estimate âby eyeâ or preference for these ingredients.
If you like more of them on your pizza, go ahead and add more.
You can also use other fresh ingredients like arugula and basil (or use them as a substitute for parsley).
Whisk together the egg and milk, and season to taste.
This mixture âgluesâ the tortilla strips into one pizza crust.
Itâs important to season it so it wouldnât be too bland but only do so lightly so it wouldnât overpower the taste of your pizza toppings.

You can add pepperoni, ham, and bacon like any other pizza.
Some even used ground pork or beef and seasoned it with their favorite spices.

Ingredients:
- 3 Tortillas
- 3.5 oz. Cheese, shredded
- 1 or 2 Tomatoes
- 1/2 Bell pepper
- 1.75 oz. Parsley, chopped
- 3 Eggs
- 2/3 Cup milk
- Salt
- Pepper
- Vegetable oil
Directions:
- Stack the tortillas on top of each other and roll. Slice them into thin pieces and set aside.
- Grate the cheese, then set aside.
- Dice the tomatoes, slice the bell pepper, chop the parsley, and set them aside.
- In a mixing bowl, add three eggs and milk and whisk them. Add a bit of salt and pepper to taste.
- Pour vegetable oil into a skillet on medium heat.
- Place the sliced tortilla evenly covering the entire area of the skillet.
- Pour the milk mixture on top of the tortilla.
- Lay out the pepper and tomatoes, then sprinkle the cheese and parsley.
- Cover the skillet and cook for 10 minutes.
- Serve on a plate and slice to even servings.
