Woman had too much to drink at dinner leaves car parked overnight at restaurant only to find a note on it

If you own a car, it is probably one of the things that you treasure the most. And leaving it in a particular place that’s far from your home overnight is the last thing that you would do.

Well, it’s reasonable to feel that way because you might get a ticket or worse, your car might get towed.

At the end of the day, life is still more valuable than cars.

No matter how expensive your car is, it is advisable not to drive it when you are drunk. The rightest thing to do is to take an Uber or Lyft to get home safely.

Paula Grzelak-Schultz did not hesitate to do this for, as she knows, that it’s the right thing to do. This woman from Sherwood Park, Alberta, alongside her husband, were out for dinner one night at Original Joe’s.

They avoided drinking and driving by booking an Uber to get home. So she left her car parked at the aforementioned restaurant.

The next day, she went back to Original Joe’s to retrieve her car.

Surprisingly, she found something on the windshield of her car. Nope, it’s not a ticket, it’s a note from the restaurant managing partner.

The note reads,

Dear Original Joe’s Sherwood Park Guest,

Just wanted to thank you for leaving your car parked overnight. I’m not sure if you had consumed alcohol at our restaurant or not, but we wanted to thank you for not drinking and driving. Enclosed is a voucher good for 1lb of our delicious chicken wings. Please accept this as a thank you for being responsible. Life is valuable, have a great weekend.”

It’s a nice feeling when you get to do something responsibly but it’s heartwarming when someone appreciated your actions. This is probably what Paula felt after reading the sweet note. Not to mention that she also received a voucher for one pound of chicken wings.

As she shared a photo of the note on Facebook, many people got also touched by it. It has gained 22,000 likes and over 8,000 shares.

Some people even gave their reactions to her post.

“That was awesome it just shows there are good ppl still in this world all the way around! God is good,” one commenter wrote.
Most of the people were all praises for Paula and the managing partner.
“Original Joes This manager is fantastic!!!!! Good job to Paula for not drinking and driving”
Jay McLean, the managing partner of Original Joe’s really deserves the appreciation that he has been getting. He started attaching notes on people’s windshields so he can encourage people to not drink and drive. It is also his way to thank them for choosing to keep themselves and other people safe.
As for Paula, her wise decision is indeed commendable. She took all the risks of leaving her car just to do the right thing.
Thank you for sharing your story, Paula. Because of your post, many people got reminded of two important things – spreading kindness and driving responsibly. With all the things that have been happening around us, it’s comforting to find a story like this on social media. It will make us realize that kindness still exists.
