While traveling through the Philippines on her motorbike, Isabella Humphrey found a kitten on the side of the road.

The little tabby was in need of help and had somehow gotten tangled up in some plastic fishing line.

“Suddenly I [heard] this little kitten, and it was such a distressing meow.”

She stopped what she was doing and went to rescue the kitten who was trapped in the netting, but she didn’t have any tools, so she had to use her hands to untangle her.

After 10 minutes of focus, she managed to get the kitten free and used a small towel to wrap her up and calm her down. It had been pouring down with rain, so the cat was wet and cold.

She was shaking with shock and fear but was too exhausted to run.

Isabella made sure to be very gentle and show her lots of love, trying to reassure her that she would be okay.

She also bought a little box of milk for the kitten, who lapped it up quickly, giving her some strength back.

Isabella waited with the kitten under the shelter of a little shed until the rain calmed down. Then, she carefully placed her in her backpack and rode her motorbike into town.

She stopped every 10 minutes to check on the kitten and make sure she was doing okay. The little tabby eventually fell asleep because she was so cozy, and tired from her ordeal.

Isabella got back to her hotel and snuck the cat in with her.

There was a rule against pets, but Isabella knew she couldn’t just leave the little one outside so she took a risk, hoping the hotel staff wouldn’t hear any meowing!

Luckily, none of the staff noticed and Isabella was able to let the tabby sleep in her warm cozy bed.

She then brought the cat to the vet for some proper care. Her foot had been injured in the tangling, and Isabella didn’t know how long she’d been outside in the rain.

When the vet weighed the kitten, she was just 392 grams… that’s less than one pound!

Luckily, she was otherwise healthy and would make a speedy recovery.

But Isabella couldn’t keep the kitten herself because he was just touring through.

So she went back to a nearby café that she had visited a few times and asked if any of the women working there wanted to adopt the tabby.

She was so cute, that of course everyone fawned over her and wanted to take her home!

She was eventually adopted by one of the employees who had a five-year-old daughter at home.

“It was an instant match, because when she held the cat, the cat went straight on her shoulder.”

Isabella knew the cat would be in good hands with this woman and her young daughter, who decided to name the kitten Missy.

She’s happy that she was able to rescue Missy, and help her find a good home.

Her story has been viewed more than a million times, and Isabella is getting praise from around the world for her heroic actions.
