This is exactly what happened in 2019 when a group of people was having a well-deserved moment of relaxation at the Great Bear Lodge in Canada’s British Columbia, and the water suddenly started to move. Basically, they received two unexpected and beautiful guests that wanted to share some time with them.

The situation took place in the morning when most of the guests were sleeping in their cabins.

However, a staff member of the beautiful floating lodge noticed some strange movements on the water. Once he took a closer look, he immediately knew what was happening, and proceeded to wake up the guests so they could experience one of the most incredible moments of their life.

Believe it or not, the “visitors” were a couple of beautiful humpbacks!

In fact, the most surprising aspect of this situation was that these amazing whales decided to surface right next to the dock.

It’s a rare moment that only happens from time to time.

Once the lodge’s staff members announced what was happening, many of the guests went immediately to the dock to watch the show of wildlife majesty.

Naturally, some of them filmed the whole scene, and the videos eventually went viral on YouTube.

In the video, you can watch the people gathered on the dock while the water was starting to show some bubbles. What’s even greater is that you can literally feel the people’s excitement right before the two humpbacks emerge and spray water like in movies and cartoons!

Humpbacks are one of the most interesting types of whales for plenty of reasons.

They’re able to grow 60 feet long and can weigh nearly 50 tons, which is half the size of the legendary blue whale.

Also, humpbacks’ flippers are unique.

They can literally grow up to 16 feet long, representing the largest appendage in the animal kingdom.

Moreover, these beautiful animals make bubbles on the water as a hunting tactic with the goal of distracting their prey and attacking by surprise.

People at the Great Bear Lodge not only had an amazing moment watching these two humpbacks, but also witnessed a demonstration that you don’t see every day!

And, yes, the Great Bear Lodge is known for having these types of situations.

After all, this place is known for having a major concentration of grizzly bears – not to mention its wilderness surrounded by miles of well-preserved temperate rainforest.

However, what the Great Bear Lodge’s guests saw that morning is simply one of the most beautiful spectacles Earth can show us. Luckily they decided to film it and post it on social media so we could join in on the magnifigance too!
