When you see a team of sanitation workers in Keansburg, NJ, chances are you’ll be able to spot them dancing and busting out some moves. One time, their energy and enthusiasm were absolutely off the charts, and luckily for us, a security camera managed to capture almost the entire spectacle.

These two guys were dancing and singing along to the catchy song “Cupid’s Shuffle” by Cupid, and their impromptu street performance is simply a joy to witness. The video was shared multiple times on Facebook and YouTube, and it has already amassed hundreds of thousands of views across both platforms.

The local news managed to find these rhythmic trash collectors, and they had no idea that they went viral!

“What happened with the dancing thing is, I was kind of going through something,” William Watson, one of the sanitary workers, said to News 12 New Jersey. “And I’m looking around, everybody’s moping and they’re sad…I started dancing. Then he started dancing, then he started dancing. We didn’t know we were being recorded.”

Recently, William and his friend and co-worker Rodrick Samuel had a great idea to make work a little bit more interesting. Both of them invested in a rather large boom box so that they could enjoy some tunes while working. William has been working at Roselle Display for over three years and he wouldn’t want to work without the boombox anymore.

“$120 for it. It’s worth it.” Co-worker Rodrick chipped in. “Music is the motivation for work. It gets you through your day. Especially rain. Cold weather…anything at all. I told them we gotta get a nice speaker. Let’s motivate ourselves some more.”

The boombox was most definitely a good investment, just look at their energy while they’re working!

This is definitely a good way to make your daily, rather mundane job, a whole lot more interesting. It also seems like William, Rodrick, and their other colleagues definitely enjoy their shifts.

Because of their newfound popularity, the two are even recognized by the neighborhood sometimes.

“They are the best garbage men ever. Ever. Hands down. The best. And they boost up your spirits all day. Every day,” one of the residents in the area said.

As for the owner of the sanitary company, he couldn’t be any happier with his employees. Apparently, these men all didn’t take a single break during the entire lockdown and quarantine period.

Even though the amount of trash increased by over 30% during quarantine, they all handled it without complaining and without extra help.

Kenneth Cook, the owner of the security camera, couldn’t contain his own enthusiasm in the video description.

“These guys are the hype!”
