Dancing takes many different forms, but in all cases, it requires a creative memory, skill, and, a good helping of talent.

When it comes to the two sisters in the video below, there’s no denying they can dance. Just take a look at their lightning-fast feet!

Lauren and Kaylee Thomas live in Kentucky and have been passionate about clogging since they were little. Over their years of dancing as a duo, they’ve amassed an impressive collection of awards – and it’s easy to see why.

The Thomas sisters are at home in a competition hall, so they performed at the Clogging Champions of America without even a hint of nerves.

The pair started out with their backs to the crowd. If we didn’t already guess that they were sisters, they’re certainly dressed the part with their matching outfits and hairstyles. The twanging guitars signal the beginning of the music, and the girls kick – quite literally – into action.

Linking hands, Lauren and Kaylee get started with their clogging, kicking their feet with an impressive amount of energy. The two girls clearly already look alike, but with them hitting each kick in perfect unison, it really does feel as if you’re seeing double.

Of course, that’s not actually the case. The girls are just identical in all senses, even their dancing! But they’re not actually twins, just sisters. Lauren is the older sister by several years.

Clogging is a very niche dancing style that we don’t see around as much as we used to. Still, it’s Kentucky’s official state dance and is part of their Appalachian culture, according to State Symbols USA. This is probably how the Kentucky-born pair were first introduced to the dance.

Lauren and Kaylee’s dancing follows the pace of a bluegrass tune that really lets them have fun. Included in their routine are spins, jumps, and heel-clicks that make for a highly enjoyable watch.

These girls are clearly experts in their field, and it turns out they’ve been performing almost since they could walk. Doubletoe Times noted that Kaylee began clogging at the age of five, while Lauren started even earlier, aged three.

They quickly became renowned for their clogging abilities and were lucky enough to guest star in the Nickelodeon game show, Figure It Out. A few years down the line, in 2018, they appeared on The Gong Show, performing an act entitled: “The Terror Tap Twins.”

The Clogging Champions of America (CCA) hosts all levels of cloggers, from beginning to advanced.

The aim of the championships was to generate more interest in clogging as a dance style, and based on Kaylee and Lauren’s performance, we think they’ve more than succeeded!

It’s clear that the audience loves the sisters’ dancing just as much as we do. In the video, we can hear the sounds of people clapping and cheering along to the performance.
