Love can blossom anywhere.

Sometimes, things are just better when they happen unexpectedly.

Take love, for example. It’s an exciting thing. There’s nothing better than someone catching your eye by happenchance and the feelings are reciprocated.

This is that type of love story. But instead of a human connection, this relationship is between two adorable cats.

The two had never even met but the connection was clear. They both watched the other from their respective windows across the alley.

It all began when Simon, an orange Tabby cat, spotted another cat from his window. The cat intrigued Simon. Whenever the other cat was around, Simon was there to catch a glimpse through his window.

Mackenzie, Simon’s owner, noticed him staring intently from the window. When she realized how serious Simon was about the neighboring cat, she began to document their interactions.

She shared via Twitter that Simon was in love with the fluffy cat from across the alley.

In one of the videos she posted, Simon can be seen jumping onto the windowsill in an attempt to get closer to his neighbor.

Mackenzie decided to try and get the owner of the fluffy cat’s attention. She drew up a big sign introducing Simon.

The owner of the cat saw the sign and in good spirit, went along with the conversation.

It turns out the cat’s name was Theo!

Even on his own birthday, Simon spent time on the windowsill hoping to get a peek at his friend. It truly was his lucky day, Theo was also sitting on his windowsill hoping to get a glimpse of him as well.

MacKenzie and her neighbor decided that opening their windows would be a great introduction for the two. After all, they probably had a lot they wanted to say!

Mackenzie’s updates on Simon and Theo’s relationship went viral. Mackenzie wanted to share the exciting news with Theo’s owner but was a little nervous about how it may be perceived.

But to her delight, they were delighted.

Shortly after, Theo’s owner also decided to make Theo a social media account so the two cats could communicate online.

After much back and forth, the two owners decided it was a good idea for the cats to meet.

Theo would meet Simon and Mackenzie at his house.

Simon eagerly waited for Theo by the window. In a video, he keeps poking his head through a stiff set of blinds.

When Theo arrived, Simon could barely contain his excitement. At one point, he can’t seem to stop following Theo around.

But Theo is a bit apprehensive in the new environment so they move things to his house to see if he would be more comfortable.

Indeed, he was. But now, Simon was nervous!

In one of the videos, Simon hides under a chair. Theo approaches him and lays down beside it to get closer to him.

According to Mackenzie, the playdate was a success!

Shortly after their playdate, another cat was thrown into the mix when Mackenzie spotted a new cat in one of the windows of Theo’s building.

She wondered if his name was Alvin. That way the three cats could complete the Alvin and The Chipmunks ensemble that was beginning to form.

Truly, Simon and Theo can simply be referred to as the Alley Cats.

Either way, from the looks of it, Simon and Theo’s friendship is going strong.
