Vet transforms rescue cat’s broken jaw into an adorable smile
Streets are home to millions of cats.
The number of community cats is very highâmany of them are without any care and often subject to danger by pedestrians or reckless driving.
But plenty of them receive the care they deserve.
Where humanity thrives no stray is left without care!
Many people adopt rescues and provide them with a loving family. The result is always heartwarming. Not only do animals receive the love they deserve but humans also get the blessing of faithful companions.
The story of the cat below is similar. She was a stray and faced hardship before finding a family
Many strays face abuses. They don’t receive the love and care they need. Their life is a struggle, but plenty of them are fighters, and one such fighter is Duchess.
When Duchess arrived in the clinic, she was severely injured and had no hope.
Duchess was a stray who spent most of her life in the streets of El Paso, Texas. She went through an unfortunate car accident and was left in a helpless state.
Duchess was hit by a car which resulted in a broken jaw.
When Duchess arrived at Adobe Animal Hospital, she had a crooked jaw and several other injuries. She was in a bad condition.
Her owner, Crystal Tate, said:
Duchess was a stray who was brought into the vet clinic where I work after being hit by a car, which broke her jaw, and banged her up pretty bad
Crystal Tate was also one of the veterinary assistants who assisted Duchess on her recovery.
The condition was so severe that most cats would be euthanized.
Duchessâ condition wasn’t pleasant, in such conditions the most opted method of cure was euthanization. But one of the surgeons (now the owner of the cat), Crystal Tate, had hope.
âMost places wouldâve just euthanized her, but by some miracle, Duchess got luckyâ Crystal Tate
Crystal Tate decided to give Dutchess proper treatment and the result is remarkable.
Duchess received extensive care and she was able to recover. The treatment was flawless and she received a unique wonderful smile.
Not only Duchess received treatment but also a loving family.
Even after successful surgery, Duchess needed intensive care. She had to spend her next few months at the facility. She was fed through tubes and was steadily recovering.
During her intensive care, one of the veterinary assistants bonded with her and decided to adopt her.
âI met her the day I arrived at the clinic for my first day and ended up bringing her home with me less than a week laterâ Crystal Tate
Crystal Tate quickly realised that the cat needed something more the just medicineâShe needed love! The chances for Duchess adoption were slim as most people don’t adopt pets with deficiency.
But for Crystal, Duchess was nothing short of purrfect.
After spending months in intensive care, Duchess was back on her feet and moving. Duchessâ life changed as she no longer had to live as a stray on hostile streets, now she has her own forever home!
Regarding her adoption, Crystal Tate said:
Everyday I would spend time with her, petting her, talking to her and when the doctors asked me if I could give her a home a few weeks later I knew immediately we were meant to be in each other lives.
Duchess is very much enjoying her new home. She now runs around the house and sits wherever she wishes and warms everyone’s heart.
