Any child who grows up with a dog is very lucky indeed. Dogs form loving, loyal connections with children, even more so than adults.

What is it that makes dogs and kids get along so well? Anyone that grew up with a dog or has raised a kid with a dog in the household knows why this question is so relevant.

When a dog and a young child form a bond, it’s unlike anything else.

It makes sense when you think about it. Children are basically more playful, more curious versions of adults. Dogs love playing games and exploring!

But one Facebook video really highlights the special bonds that kids and dogs form. It’s titled “Kids Growing Up With Their Best Friends,” and it’s just that.

The video opens with a young boy and his dog. The boy positively beams at the dog. His mouth is wide open in wonder.

Then the shot cuts to a very large dog. A tiny toddler walks up to the dog. He is a good six inches shorter than the dog. The toddler gives the dog a big hug. The dog’s tail wags quickly.

The next clip is of another toddler playing with a garden sprinkler. There are two corgi dogs next to the toddler, happily inspecting the sprinkler with the boy.

Then the scene changes to a baby and his dog in the park. They both swing on swings. The dog looks at his human brother throughout.

The shot cuts to a young girl on a swing. Her large dog is in front of her. Whenever she swings close to him, he jumps up to her legs and tries to hug her.

Then the shot cuts to a young boy taking a nap. A dog rests his head on the dog’s shoulder, also napping.

Then the scene switches to a baby napping. A dog’s nose emerges from the sheets. Clearly the dog just wants to rest with his little human best friend.

The next shot shows a young girl walking down a sidewalk from the school bus. Her dog is so happy to see her that she runs from the child’s parents and right up to her.

A little later, the scene switches to show a cute baby learning to crawl. The dog then shows the baby how it’s done and crawls across the floor himself.

Then the shot cuts to a young girl crawling over some grass. An excited puppy runs up to her and gives her some encouraging taps. Clearly, the puppy is excited that his sister is now able to explore with him!

Then there are a bunch more shots showing the dogs and kids sharing some amazing moments together.

This video has become a huge hit on Facebook. In fact, it has, to date, gained over 103 million views. It also has more than 2.3 million reactions, 2.1 million shares, and 187,000 comments. People have been saying things like this:

Some people may think that it’s silly that a video like this has become so successful. But you can never have too many reminders of how great dogs and kids are, right!?
