Sometimes it’s the simple, everyday things in life can make you cry so hard.

Take, for example, this tender moment of a man getting ready to watch the sunset with his elderly dog.

TikToker Erika Eileen was at a restaurant getting ready to pay for her food when she caught a brief glimpse of the heartwarming scene.

She already has tears in her eyes when she shouts out to her followers, “Do y’all wanna see the f*****g cutest thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life? I can’t.”

The mega-viral clip, which has clocked more than 22 million views, shows a man on a park bench hanging out with his pooch.

In a ritual they’ve probably done hundreds of times before, the man takes a treat out of his pocket, and she responds by putting her paw on his lap.

The two lean in for a hug and then settle in to watch the sunset like an old married couple (with her tail wagging full-throttle the entire time).

The delightful interaction between this man and his fur-ever companion is definitely the main storyline in this clip, but check out the background characters that make it even more realistic.

Notice all the people strolling by, completely oblivious to the touching scene unfolding right there on that bench?

Well, keep your eye on this eager little pup. It’s obvious he wants some sunset hugs too, but too bad for him – he’s just a lowly extra in this mini-Hallmark Channel movie.

The poor doggy only gets to catch a quick glimpse of the sand and sky before a tugging leash says it’s time to move on.

His parents were so busy doing their thing, they didn’t even notice that their pup was trying to tell them he wanted to stop and look at the pretty stuff, too!

@vanessa.rii hilariously commented, “Even the little dog walking by n stopped like hold up, I don’t get sunset hugs.”

Sometimes it pays to slow down and just be present. That way, you won’t miss out on all the sunset hug opportunities that are begging to be taken!

After all, it’s the simple pleasures in life that usually bring us the greatest joy.

In an update video, Erika said that she was able to connect with a woman who recognized the man as one of her former music teachers.

“I ended up giving her all the photos and videos for him and she sent it to him this morning and he was super grateful, he was so happy.”
