Andrea Bocelli sings the sweetest duet with his daughter Virginia

Andrea Bocelli’s transition from opera to pop helped make the Italian tenor famous – but it also drew a whole new crowd to the classical music on which he originally cut his chops.

While he’s recorded 15 solo albums since 1982 – many of which hold chart-topping records – most of us only came to know his magical voice after he sang a duet with Canadian pop legend Celine Dion in 1998.

Their song, “The Prayer,” was recorded for the animated film Quest for Camelot – and it won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song as well.

After that, Bocelli became a household name.

And now his children are following in his footsteps.

His son, Matteo Bocelli is also a singer and is best known for his duet with his dad – the single “Fall On Me” from the elder Bocelli’s album Sì.

The father and son sing the tribute to their relationship in both English and Italian – and Matteo also provided vocals for the song “Ven a Mi.”

Andrea Bocelli’s eldest son Amos was also part of the album – he played piano on the acoustic versions of “Sono Qui” (I Am Here) and “Ali de Libertà” (Wings of Freedom).

In 2002, Bocelli met his second wife Veronica Berti, and together they have a young daughter named Virginia – the singer’s first daughter – who was born in 2012.

And now it looks like even she is angling to follow in her father’s footsteps.

A video of the duo singing together was posted in December of 2019 and already has over 1 million views.

Keeping it a family affair, they sing the duet that Matteo recorded with his father – “Fall on Me.”

Of course, at age 7, she has no chance of matching the vocal prowess of her father, but she does attempt to hold her own with a small karaoke microphone.

The love between the two is what had most people coming back for more – it’s a very sweet moment.

“I love to hear him sing but it brings me more joy just to watch the interaction between the two of them. Such unconditional love,” said one commenter.

But the video is more than just the father-daughter duo. It goes on to show mother and daughter practicing their vocals as well.

And while dad’s booming voice often covers up Virginia’s, we can hear much more of her when she’s practicing with her mom.

There are some solo moments as well in the 6-minute-and 33-second video.

And there’s even a bit of dancing!

Then again, who wouldn’t want to twirl around in that dress?

It’s pretty clear from how seriously this little girl takes her solos that even if she doesn’t become a professional singer, she has music in her veins.
