For those who haven’t yet been exposed to one of the world’s best-kept secrets, Dalgona coffee is the creamy Instagram-worthy drink that has recently taken the internet by storm. This trendy beverage is the new avocado toast of social media and it’s surely taking over your feed.

The frothy, whipped drink is a take on a South Korean candy and has gained rapid popularity due to just how easy it is to make at home. In a viral TikTok video with almost 2 million likes, @imhannahcho is seen crafting this luscious treat. Likely, you already have the ingredients on hand. With some instant coffee, sugar, and milk, you can easily treat yourself any day of the week!

And leave it to the creatives of the world to take a trend and spin it.

The same method that is being used for Dalgona coffee, is now being used to create a variety of luxurious and silky cold drinks, including matcha, and most recently, strawberry and chocolate milk.

One of the most attractive aspects of Dalgona coffee is just how easy it is to craft it in your own kitchen. While many of us may be missing our favorite coffee-house treats right now, it comes with perfect timing.

The trick to making the coffee is to combine equal parts instant coffee, sugar, and water (to control the bitterness). After you whip it, you serve it over a pillowy glass of ice and milk. Essentially, it’s the same process for milk powders like Nesquik or Hershey’s chocolate.

Since strawberry powder is already sweet, it is mixed with heavy cream instead of water to obtain the desired texture.

This caffeine-free alternative was posted to Instagram last week by blogger Valentina Mussi. The video has been liked over 430,000 times.

To make it, you mix one tablespoon of Strawberry Nesquik powder with a 1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream. Mussi jokes to whisk the ingredients together by hand “until your arm is numb”, or until completely smooth. From here you have options. You can either pour the strawberry mixture over hot milk for a latte-inspired drink, or you can pour it over chilled milk and ice for a refreshing treat.

If you’re feeling extra fancy, you can rim your glass with honey or agave and dunk it in the container of Strawberry Nesquik for a sweet and sparkly finishing touch.

Many have retreated to their kitchens to create their own masterpieces.

Food Blogger Munchies Log shared her version recently, which is a very fresh take. She calls for you to make your own strawberry milk using fresh strawberries, milk, and sugar. First, you make a strawberry syrup using the berries and sugar. Then, you add it to your milk of choice, and voila!

No convincing necessary! Whipped strawberry milk this springtime might just be the thing to get us all through.
