Rescue kitten can’t really grow – but he’s definitely winning hearts
There’s nothing cuter than a tiny kitten, and that’s a fact. Well, this little rescue has been named Widdle, specifically because of his size.
He was brought to The Kitten Inn, which is a specialized cat rescue centre in Wellington, New Zealand. After a thorough examination, they determined that he had a respiratory infection and needed special care.
Luckily, a woman named Jessie, who is an experienced vet nurse and regular cat-foster mom, came to rescue and adopted Widdle. And not just on his own – but with five other cats at the same time!
His dedicated foster mom knew just what to do, and fed him his medication even though he wasn’t very happy about it.

After diligently taking his medication, Widdle finally started to get better and was cured of the respiratory infection. But he just wasn’t growing.
He had been adopted with his sister Chubs, who came from the same litter. She was born healthier and grew much faster than he did.
Widdle’s growth issue became even more apparent as the two of them got older. After three weeks, he was still only half his sister’s size. But the pair looked almost identical in every other way.
I wonder how she got the name Chubs. Good thing cats can’t speak English, or she may have been a little offended! I think she looks perfectly healthy and not chubby in the slightest!

At 17-weeks-old, Widdle was still only the size of a 7-week-old cat. This means he only weighed about one pound when he should have weighed closer to five.
Jessie would always take care of her foster kittens until they were well and old enough to be adopted into their forever homes. But Widdle was struggling so much with his growth that she couldn’t let him go.

After so much time taking special care of Widdle, the two created such a strong bond that she decided to adopt him permanently. He required a lot of attention and she knew she was the right person to give it to him.
Other than his obvious growth issue, Widdle seems to be a perfectly healthy cat.
Widdle now lives a very happy life with his family, sometimes going to work with either his mom or his dad. It’s easy to carry a cat around when he’s so small and transportable like this guy!
And his parents are always giving him the cutest little outfits.

Living in a home that still fosters lots of kittens, other animals, and has a young child living there, he has the opportunity to make lots of friends!

He has grown up to be a regular-sized cat and loves hanging out with his human sister, just as much as his furry friends.
That little baby will quickly outgrow him just like his feline sister did too!
