Charitable organization steps in when senior widow is threatened with huge property fines

Sometimes, being a senior citizen doesn’t exempt you from how harsh some systems can be. This is what 90-year old Agnes found out for herself. The old and frail woman lives alone with very little in the way of help.

To make matters worse, one of the few relatives who stays in touch with her leaves their trash on her property. Not exactly the most considerate family member, to put it lightly.

Agnes’ problems were piling up faster than the trash in her yard.

With that much trash on her property, and her condition leaving her unable to clean it, neighbors started to complain. Agnes was 90 years old, and could barely walk on her own. She needed a walker or wheelchair to even get to places. Who could possibly expect her to pick up the trash on her own?

Her husband had passed away already. Agnes truly had no one else to help her.

The city took note of the neighbors’ complaints and sent Agnes multiple fines. If she failed to clean it up, she’d be fined $2,500 daily. Nobody just has $2,500 sitting around. Especially not a 90-year old woman who can barely walk.

This is shocking to even read about. Seems pretty ridiculous to expect a 90-year old to clean up heaps of trash on her own, and fine her thousands of dollars when she can’t.

Adding on to her list of problems, her house was falling apart. The roof was in desperate need of repair, and there was no air conditioning in her room.

Now, Agnes truly needed help. Any she could get. So she asked around, and her prayers were answered.

Hearing her call for help was Operation Blessing. The organization works for charity, especially folks like Agnes. They lend help when someone may need it the most, living up to their name.

The organization came to Agnes’s home and cleaned up the trash, which meant cleaning up her problems too. Operation Blessing does a lot of clean-up and aid work.

Just what Agnes needed.

Little by little, all the discarded panels, bags, furniture, and other items in her yard got taken care of. Her yard was the cleanest it’d been in years, all thanks to them. Though don’t think they were stopping there!

They built new brick paths just for her, repaired her roof, and planted more flowers.

First was the cleanup, then the touch-up. Every ounce of tender loving care they could give.

Before they called it a job done, they still had to do one last thing. Agnes might’ve needed something else, and they asked her just what that was. “An air conditioner,” said Agnes.

Like Agnes’ own fairy godmother, they surprised her with just what she asked for.

Agnes couldn’t hide the biggest smile when they presented it to her.

She had little to worry about now and probably won’t forget the help she got anytime soon. The folks working for Operation Blessing looked joyful to have provided the help, and some even shed tears when Agnes thanked them. Goes to show how we can give some of the biggest blessings to other people, all with some effort and help.
