Jo and Kevin Taylor met when they were teenagers. Over the years, they’ve changed a lot. But they were unprepared for this sudden change.

December 1967 saw the world’s first successful heart transplant. It was also when Jo and Kevin Taylor met and fell in love. They were 14 and 16.

Jo and Kevin have accomplished a lot in their time together. They’ve had five children, who have gone on to have 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Naturally, for years, they focused on their kids and their kids’ kids. This meant that they spent less time maintaining their own appearances.

Jo had put some effort into her style. She also tried to get Kevin to groom himself, with no success.

Luckily, Jo entered a competition to get a makeover by Ambush Makeovers on The Today Show.

The beauticians saw Kevin and Jo’s entry and realized they were the perfect candidates.

The team got to work, and soon, the couple were ready to show their new selves off on national TV.

First, Jo walked onto the set. The crowd cheered, amazed at what they were seeing. But Jo hadn’t seen herself yet. Would she like her new look?

She put on her glasses and looked into a full-length mirror. With an, “Oh my gosh!” she took in the reflection. She got so emotional. The designers had clearly done a fantastic job.

Then it was time for Kevin to walk onset. But first, they asked Jo to face away, so they could reveal her to her husband at the right moment.

The new Kevin walked out. After so many years, he had trimmed his beard. He also held a bouquet of roses for his wife.

Then Jo turned around. She was so surprised at Kevin’s makeover that she asked, “Who are you?” in between shocked laughter.

She then walked into his arms, and they kissed. The hosts couldn’t hold back “awwws.”

Then it was time for Kevin to look in the mirror. He could see why Jo was so shocked and so pleased!

Best of all, the hosts were complimenting Kevin on his body, which the huge beard had definitely obscured!

The beauticians then discussed Kevin’s suit. He joked that he’d never been in one before. Jo soon revealed the truth. In actuality, this was his fifth time wearing a suit!

Clearly, the makeovers were successful. The couple was over the moon to look as good as they felt.

And the internet would agree. A YouTube video of this segment has become popular. To date, it has gained over 700,000 views. It also has more than 3,000 likes and 200 comments. People have been saying things like this:

Clearly, there’s a lot of appreciation out there for them both.

Jo and Kevin’s kids, grandkids and great-grandkids must have been shocked when they saw them.

Anyone who watches those two together can tell that they’d love each other no matter their appearance. But Jo and Kevin sure will enjoy their new looks!
