It is never a good idea to lose your calm and act on your emotions.

When reflecting on a period when they acted on impulse, everyone has regrets.

It’s not as entertaining as the movies portray.

Making relationships work and dealing with paranoia are continual battles for married individuals.

The imaginative concern is that he or she will have someone else since the other partner is no longer content.

However, this astute husband turned the tables on his wife.

A woman, cranky because her husband was late coming home again, decided to leave a note, saying:

“I’ve had enough and have left you. Don’t bother coming after me.”

Then she hid under the bed to see his reaction.

After a short while, the husband comes home and she could hear him in the kitchen before he comes into the bedroom.

She could see him walk towards the dresser and pick up the note.

After a few minutes, he wrote something on it before picking up the phone and calling someone.

“She’s finally gone… yeah I know, about bloody time, I’m coming to see you, put on that sexy French nightie.

I love you… can’t wait to see you… we’ll do all the naughty things you like.”

He hung up, grabbed his keys, and left.

She heard the car drive off as she came out from under the bed.

Seething with rage and with tears in her eyes she grabbed the note to see what he wrote…

“I can see your feet. We’re outta bread: be back in five minutes.”

There’s a big blunder for the enraged wife there.

Don’t worry, he went out to get some bread.

That implies they’ll eat a wonderful supper together, just like every other decent couple.

But imagine the awkward silence. Then there’s the man’s inevitable teasing. He knew exactly how to respond to her joke.

She, on the other hand, should have been more cautious.

That’s what occurs when you’re operating under the influence of blind wrath. Either she has huge feet or she has a small bed.

Kelly Campbell Ph.D., is a professor of psychology at California State University, San Bernardino.

She believes that there are three secrets to long-lasting love.

“With the national rate of divorce hovering close to 50 percent, people understandably wonder how they can make a relationship last?”

First is ‘compassionate love.’ “This type of connection is more stable and predictable than passionate love, if less exciting. The couple’s bond can be described as deep, comfortable, and caring.”

Next is ‘need fulfillment.’ Dr. Campbell shared that, “Those who meet their partner’s needs—and do so better than an alternative partner could do—will experience high commitment in their union.”

Lastly, it’s the ‘reciprocal dedication.’ She marked to remember to couples that, “The only people who can break up the relationship are the partners themselves. If you both remain committed to making it work, nothing can stop you.”

When it comes to having a long-lasting marriage, it’s always ideal not to leap to conclusions and to keep a good sense of humor!
