Luxury is subjective.

It can be in various forms like jewelry, travel, or house. But for this bear, luxury is in the form of sleep.

A black bear was found to be having the time of his life while relaxing on a mattress.

Even though the mattress is in a garbage dumping ground, the bear does not care about it.

This is his version of the “good” life.

I guess it is true that time stops when you’re in your happy place, just like it is for this wild animal.

He’s a lazy bear.

He prefers hanging out on cozy beds rather than hunting.

The bear blissfully lounges on the mattress in a landfill in Kingfisher Lake, Ontario.

The sighting is not uncommon, but the behavior is.

This particular bear is unusual.

The woman recording, Keira Mamakwa, was no longer surprised to see a black bear around the area.

Keira saw the bear at around 5 pm while roaming the dump one summer evening.

The dump area is just 500 kilometers away from the Nation community of Thunder Bay.

The bear was just “chilling”.

What caught her attention was to see a huge bear just hanging out at the dump like he was lounging poolside on vacation.

She shared some of the photos she took in her Facebook post.

Mamakwa took the time to capture the unusual behavior of the black bear, who seemed to be taking his time enjoying his newfound hang out.

Just 15 feet away from the bear, she mustered the courage to get adorable snaps of the furry napper.

Her post spread like wildfire.

It can be seen from the photos that the bear noticed her at some point while she was getting a shot of him.

Though the bear is surrounded by trash, it feels like he has found the greatest treasure.

He sure took his time to savor the happiness brought by his cherished mattress.

Many people identified with the bear.

One of the commenters said, “this particular bear right here is my spirit animal.”

Another comment said, “living his best life.”

I guess everybody wants their own luxurious rest at some point, right?

Black bears are the most widely distributed species in North America.

They have human-like characteristics.

Black bears are known for their sharp sense of smell.

Their eyesight and hearing are also keen, making it easier for them to hunt their prey.

They are territorial and, just like other bears, hibernate for months. When hibernating, black bears reduce their activities which leads to a slow metabolism.

Unlike most bears, they avoid humans.

Black bears rarely attack when they encounter humans. Most of the noted attacks are due to hunger, and a very small number result in killing.

Hunting of black bears is known and widely practiced in America.

They are mostly hunted for their meat which is held in high esteem, especially for indigenous people.

Whether for food or memory, always remember to stay alert during a bear encounter.
