In the past years, Simon Cowell’s very successful talent show that’s now branded as ‘Got Talent’ has been visited by some great magicians all around the globe.

In fact, in April 2014, ‘Got Talent’ was named the world’s most successful reality TV format ever by Guinness World Records.

Sleight of hand or just a pure trick?

Truth be told, some people are not impressed with their talent. Oftentimes, magic is only referred to as a ‘trick’ or ‘illusion’, which is why not everyone sees it as the “real deal” when it comes to talent shows.

On the contrary, not everyone can perform magic too, right? It takes time and real talent to successfully perform a magic trick, let alone perform it in front of many people and millions of others around the world.

Little do we know, a magic act is not only used to impress the audience but it’s also used to touch their hearts too.

Do you love magic? Do you love dogs? Or do you love both?

On May 9, 2020, Amanda Leask and her dog named ‘Miracle’ pulled off an unexpectedly emotional magic trick on Britain’s Got Talent stage.

Before she even begins, Leask asked BGT hosts Ant & Dec, to hold Miracle. Then she started by going to Simon because she knew he loved dogs so much.

She then showed a deck of 40 cards with each one having 40 dogs with their corresponding names – all of them owned by Amanda herself.

Leask then asked Simon to subdivide the deck into four unequal portions, get the top card on each deck, and pass along the other cards to the rest of the judges.

When the preparation part was done, a video played right after, and it showed Miracle’s life story.

Get your tissues ready.

As it turned out, Miracle was rescued from an illegal dog meat trade in Thailand. It was a truck loaded with over 1,000 dogs crammed inside rusty cages and they were supposed to be slaughtered in Vietnam.

Thankfully, the truck was stopped by undercover officers working for the charity Soi Dog Foundation.

The video also showed the heartbreaking condition of Miracle together with the other dogs. With how terrible it looked, they thought Miracle was already dead.

That’s until a camera flash made him open an eye and just like how the video described, “It was a miracle he was still alive.”

Miracle was then brought to the UK in April 2014, and it was his first time living in a house before. Miracle eventually became the best furry best buddy to Kyle, Leask’s son, who has cerebral palsy and autism.

“Now, if Kyle becomes upset by a situation, such as too many people invading his space, Miracle will go to him and let him grab the fur on the back of his neck for comfort, which instantly seems to calm him,” she told BGT.

Time for the real magic.

After showing Miracle’s life story, another video that was taken a few moments before the show came in played on the screen. It was Leask asking Miracle which four of the forty dogs they should bring to the show.

She then proceeded by asking all four judges to show their cards, and their cards were Braveheart, Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, and Jean Harlow.

It was then the best time for the magic’s grand reveal. Leask instructed Miracle to go to a makeshift doghouse and introduce her siblings.

Inside it were four dogs, and yes, they were none other than the cards chosen by Simon, Braveheart, Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, and Jean Harlow!

Apart from downright amazement, all four judges and the audience were moved by Miracle’s story. It also made everyone aware of the illegal dog meat trade that is still currently circulating in some parts of the world.
