Woman strikes wild horse with a shovel not knowing horse is about to kick back
Horses have always been one of the most majestic animals in the world, not only because of the way they have always helped humans with transportation but also because they are extremely beautiful and friendly.
Because of this, it is always an unspeakable injustice every time a person decides to treat these beautiful friends in a violent manner.
Basically, horses are the type of animals you must always treat with respect because of the incredible relationship they have had with us over the last few centuries. However, another major reason is that they will definitely respond in an unpleasant way if you treat them the wrong way!
Horses can be quite dangerous and violent from time to time.
Of course, theyâre not violent by nature. This is just the way of defending themselves in situations where they can feel threatened by something or someone.
The most common way horses show their discomfort is by kicking with their back legs.
This usually happens when they feel another animal or horse is getting close to their food or its herd mate.
As you can imagine, they can also act this way if someone acts violently against them, including humans.
This is exactly what happened at Assateague Island, where a group of people was gathering to enjoy the beach and watch the beautiful horses that freely wander the area.
While the islandâs authorities clearly indicate that tourists must behave in the most peaceful manner amongst themselves and the animals, there are always people that will break the rules.
In this case, the person in question was a middle-aged woman who committed a serious mistake she immediately regretted.
Believe it or not, she decided to act with one of these beautiful horses in the most violent manner, hitting the animal with a shovel. In fact, the whole situation was caught on video and you can easily watch her determination in hitting the horse.
A tragicomic moment can be heard right before she hit the beautiful animal.
Someone who was near her warned that the horse could actually kick her if she hit it. And thatâs exactly what happened.
The horse was scared and felt that it was being attacked.
While the woman seemed clearly disoriented, the good news is that she doesnât appear to suffer any type of serious injury, which happens almost every time a horse kicks you.
The video was later shared on Facebook and quickly went viral.
The horse’s reaction was pretty priceless.
In fact, the video became so incredibly famous that the US National Park Service decided to send a statement to the Miami Herald to warn people not to mistreat horses at the Assateague Island.
âAssateagueâs horses are beautiful, tough, and wild. They have learned to survive in a harsh environment. Feeding and/or petting them is detrimental to both visitors and horses. Treating wild horses like tame animals takes away the wildness that makes them special. Protect your family by respecting theirs. Give the horses the space they need to be wild,â the NPS told the newspaper.
As you can see in the video, you should never mistreat any animal. Especially if this one is a horse.
