Woman has Instagram followers in stitches after grooming dog during quarantine
The coronavirus has most definitely changed our lives in ways we previously couldn’t even imagine.
The public and social life have been halted as much as possible, it’s now frowned upon to come close to anyone, and people are encouraged to work at home and self-isolate as much as possible.
The SARS-CoV-2 virus and the COVID-19 disease it causes will have an impact on the way we live our lives for years to come, although most countries around the world are currently looking into making some of the measures and social restrictions a little lighter.
However, we definitely won’t be able to resume our regular lives in just a couple of weeks.
It will be a tough and long process and we will probably have to wait until there’s a widespread vaccine or antiviral until we can truly go back to the lives we had before the spread of the virus.
With most of us being quarantined for several weeks already, some issues have come up in the grooming department. People have to resort to themselves or their housemates to cut their hair, and the result isn’t always what they hoped.
The same can be said for pet owners trying to groom their furry friends.
Hermione Olivia definitely misses the grooming salon for her adorable Pomeranian dog.
With no professionals to go to anymore to groom her lovely dog Mash, she decided to try it the hard way and do it herself.
“Obviously we’re in lockdown so we had to take it upon ourselves to groom Mash… not expecting this outcome!!” she said to Bored Panda.
And we have to admit, Mash looks absolutely adorable, even with his new haircut.
However, it definitely seems like cutting and grooming your four-footer’s hair is something delicate and more like an art than a simple haircut.
Unfortunately, we’re not too sure if Mash likes the new look given to him by his owner… Just look at the pooch’s new coat – and his expression!
“Having never groomed him before, we bought clippers and just kind of went for it… turns out the clippers were definitely not the right size and we probably shouldn’t have started around his face – whoops!”
People on Instagram couldn’t stop laughing about the dog’s new haircut either.
Some of them even wanted to compare his new look to that of a kangaroo or something that resembles an Easter bunny!
Because the result definitely wasn’t what Hermione had hoped for, she felt “really guilty and embarrassed” right after she decided to groom him himself.
Luckily, those negative feelings have shifted towards humor, something we could all definitely use during these tough and strange times.
“Now we’re pretty happy it’s bringing some light humour for people during these weird times.”
Luckily, the DIY grooming session by Hermione was already a few weeks ago, and the adorable 13-year-old Mash is slowly but surely getting his beautiful locks back.
“His coat is already growing back and he’s looking more handsome with every day,” mom said.
If there’s one piece of advice that she wants to give people who are need of a haircut or want to groom their pets themselves, it’s this:

“Take it from Mash and wait until the professionals are back,” she concluded with a laugh.
