Woman jumps in on man’s piano playing and brings down the house
Who doesn’t like boogie-woogie? A music genre that developed in the late 19th century and became popular in the 20s that is full of light and passion!
Even to this day, people still enjoy a good boogie-woogie performance and new generations even learn how to dance to this kind of music.
That’s no wonder since it is such an upbeat kind of music that it just sort of challenges your feet to get to the dance floor!
As for pianists, boogie-woogie is always a good idea when they want to show off their skills- since this music genre requires quick finger moves on the keyboard, which are able to make anyone looking at them for a long time dizzy!
A few years ago, two famous pianists, Doña Oxford and Arthur Migliazza, put on an impromptu boogie-woogie show, which went viral on YouTube with more than 66K views!
As you can see in the video below, at first it’s only Arthur who plays the piano, while Doña is sitting next to him with her arms crossed, as if she’s indifferent to his playing.
However, no matter how hard she’s trying to pretend she doesn’t care about what’s going on right next to her, her legs give her away!
She subconsciously starts moving them and it becomes obvious she can’t contain herself- she wants to be part of this performance!
Eventually, she starts clapping, and finally, she says: “I want in on this!”
And this is when the good part starts! The two artists start playing together on the same piano, and their fingers dancing on the keys let out an other-worldly melody that makes you want to dance!
At first, Arthur plays the lower notes and Doña plays the higher ones. Then, as if this was not good enough, they exchange places, and they kind of mix their hands around as if they’re playing a special kind of Twister!
Every so often, they cross over or reach over to play different parts of the keyboard, which makes the outcome of their work really awesome!
Then, as if this level of complexity was not enough, Arthur stands up- without removing his fingers from the keyboard, of course- and moves over to the other side of the chair where Doña had been sitting up until then.
They exchange seats and they keep moving their hands around on different parts of the keyboard all the time.
People who happen to be around can’t remain unaffected by their extraordinary skills and the astounding melody, and some are even caught on camera filming the magical moment!
The performance lasts a little more than three minutes, but we bet everyone then asked for more!
If you want to listen to the pianists live, Doña is participating as a musical guest in the live-streamed Cooper Concert that will take place on August 12. And while Arthur is not going on tour anytime soon, as he’s a new dad, his latest album “In our living room” is available for streaming and download.
You can see for yourself the impeccable performance of these two musical geniuses in the video below.
