Woman says it's the “last little piece” from her late boyfriend after bulldog taken from yard
Everybody wants a getaway from the city’s hustle and bustle. It is like a moment of serenity and complete silence from the cruel world. Of course, whenever we want to go on a trip, we’d like to bring as many family members as possible, those who truly matter to us.
And that should include our beloved animal companions at home. They too would love a breath of fresh air in the open aside from those routinary walks in the park. Our beloved pets also need some pampering and come to think of it, it’s not very wise and safe to leave them alone at home.
However, that so-called “good time” will definitely be ruined if things go against your plan, let alone if some unfortunate incident suddenly happens.
A vacation that turned into a nightmare.
Sonora Breault and her family went on a vacation that they never thought was going to be one of the worst trips of their lives. They brought with them Sonora’s 8-month-old English bulldog named Oreo.
He enjoyed playing and running along the beachside one day but then came the unexpected after that happy day.
All those fun popped like a bubble when Sonora paid her friend a visit at 83rd Street and Figueroa Street. She said the last thing she saw was her friend taking Oreo in the car, but then came back to her asking “Where’s Oreo?”
That was when she realized her beloved pooch was missing. It’s perhaps, one of the things pet owners fear the most. It’s probably worse than having a pet cross the rainbow bridge. One could only imagine what was going on through Sonora’s mind at that moment.
She has all the valid reasons to be upset, to panic, and to worry about her Oreo.
Gift of love.
That’s how you’d describe Oreo to Sonora.
The English bulldog was a gift to her by her late boyfriend whom she lost in a car accident just a few months ago. She considered Oreo as her last “missing piece” from her departed lover. Her missing dog was the last memory of him and yet it was taken away from her.
If someone wants to help Sonora find her missing dog, Oreo is actually easy to spot because of his unique features. He has pink spots on his nose and he has a double “cherry eye” (or an inflamed third eyelid on both his eyes).
But what concerned Sonora and her family the most were the missing dog’s special health needs.
Turns out, Oreo has breathing problems and food allergies.
One of her worries was that whoever has him might feed him food that would trigger his allergies that might cause his untimely demise.
Sonora and his father tried looking for Oreo but ended up empty-handed. They also put up missing posters hoping someone would call them about their dog’s whereabouts.
“I feel horrible leaving, but I can’t stay here and get depressed, and nobody’s helping me,” she told CBS News. “I’m just hoping someone can come forward and do the right thing.”
The Breaults just wanted Oreo back and they had no plans of pressing charges against whoever took him. The family also offered cash rewards to those who could help them find Oreo.
