It’s a lovely day for the people who are out to enjoy the sun and the scenic beauty of the city.
Suddenly, a young woman walks towards the public piano, the people could care less and continue to mind their own business.
But when she lays her fingers to the keys, everything changes!
Ariane Racicot powered through one of the greatest hits in music history- the “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
She uses every single key on the board to draw the attention of the unsuspecting crowd.
Little by little, all eventually find themselves captivated by the young pianist.

As written on her Facebook page,
“Ariane Racicot is a piano jazz student at University of Montreal who wants to bring something new with her compositions and performances.”
We’re not sure what her school has been teaching her all this time, but after watching her rendition of Queen’s megahit, we are certain that she was taught some insanely good lessons.
Freddie Mercury, British rock band Queen, and one of their ultimate hits, the “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
The late, great Freddie Mercury and his band Queen were formed in London in 1970. They made way to their own throne in the world of Rock ‘n Roll and they created an immeasurable impact on the history of music itself.
The song was written by Freddie Mercury for the band’s 1975 album A Night at the Opera.
The Universal Music Group (UMG) also said that:
“Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” is officially the world’s most-streamed song from the 20th Century. Not only that but Universal Music Group (UMG), has revealed the iconic single by the British rock legends is also the most-streamed Classic Rock song of all time.”
The Guardian also noted that only real master-musicians can create this incomparable style of music.
“…the illusion that its huge variety of styles – from intro, to ballad, to operatic excess, to hard-rock, to reflective coda.”
The prog-rock ditty is a tour de force in piano playing and it’s a perfect pop song to capture a crowd’s attention.
Picturesque weather gathers regular residents and tourists outside to have a glimpse of the beauty of the city.
In Montreal, the winter season is so severe, the people always come out to take advantage of the sun whenever it shows up. According to Livingin-Canada.com, Montreal averages about 109 days with snow on the ground.
Oh, that’s indeed a chilly place to live in! Guess their residents have bunches of winter coats, jackets, and gear for this type of weather.
However, the people who were out that day got far more than just a ray of the sun!
Aside from sunlight, they were gifted a musical treat by Ariane.
She didn’t just play some ordinary piano music, either- but a rendition of a megahit that has been on our playlists up until this day.
Walking up to the public piano in the middle of a crowd is already heart-pounding, but playing Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” is enough to give anyone a heart attack. Well, except for this girl.
The young lady pianist lives up to the demand of the song.
Her lightning-fast fingers play majestically through the powerful punch of the song’s every rhythm.
Public pianos are ideal to spread good music and to discover unknown talents. A brilliant program called “Piano of the cities, piano of the fields” was created by a group out of the city of Montreal.
Pianos are set in some interesting public places around the city. Open for all, it invites both professional pianists and enthusiasts.
The idea became a big hit not only in Canada but all around the world. Major cities worldwide embraced this idea and have been creating a positive vibe among musicians and public place goers.
On rare occasions, amazing musicians like Ariane take a seat and share their gift of music with the public.

Billboard Magazine considers “Bohemian Rhapsody” as Queen’s best song. Their article says that,
“Even Queen’s quiet sounded big, and its big was designed to shake the Earth.”
Other songs that made it to the list are “Under Pressure” featuring David Bowie, and of course, the all-time stadium favorite “We Will Rock You.”
Why did they choose Queen to be their band’s name?
In the Mercury biography Somebody to Love, Freddie says:
“It’s just a name, but it’s very regal obviously… It’s a strong name, very universal and immediate. It had a lot of visual potential and was open to all sorts of interpretations.”
And since the band was formed in London, England, it somehow makes sense, right?
Did you know?
Queen was one of the first creators of the world’s music videos when they filmed “Bohemian Rhapsody” back in 1976.
Brian May told the Rolling Stone,
“Its influence cannot be overstated, practically inventing the music video seven years before MTV went on the air. And suddenly you couldn’t possibly put out a record without having a video and the video locked in people’s minds in terms of how they visualized the song,” he added.
It’s quite an extraordinary public performance and the crowd loves it!
As Ariane touches through the last few keys of the song, the watchful public give her bountiful applause of gratitude for the good music.
Some are even cheering for more- looks like they can’t get enough from the brilliant lady musician.
The appreciation from the crowd makes Ariane blush.
Those who are present that day are more than lucky to witness such talent. A rare moment that they will surely remember for the rest of their lives.
Make sure to watch her jaw-dropping performance in the video below.
