Woman makes replica dolls for kids with disabilities - and it's touching everyone's hearts
The world just needs love right now. With all the challenges that we are currently battling, all of us need love.
It is fortunate that many people are still willing to give love to other people. These amazing people have different ways to show their love and care to the ones who need them.
A woman from Wisconsin namely Amy Jandrisevits has a unique and special way to show some love to children – especially those who have disabilities.
She uses her creativity to bring some joy to these adorable children
This kind-hearted woman has been creating look-alike dolls for kids with special needs and has been doing this for a long time now.
She called this project “A Doll Like Me” – a recognized nonprofit organization. It has been bringing happiness not only to the kids but also to many people on social media.
Her Facebook page has more than 45,000 followers while she has gained over 35,000 followers on Instagram.
The fundraising campaign she created on February 19, 2015, via gofundme has already raised $221,819.
These are actually huge numbers – and she highly deserves it.
Instead of using her talent to put up a doll business, she decided to use it to this campaign out of love for kids.
She had worked as a social assistant in pediatric oncology unit for years so she certainly knows the struggles of these kids. This urged her to make something that will help them feel that they are needed and beautiful just the way they are.
“I was a pediatric oncology social worker. A big part of my role was helping children adjust to what felt like an out-of-control situation. Let’s face it…hospitalizations and medical procedures are scary when you DO comprehend it; so when you lack the skills to process on an intellectual and emotional level, it’s rough. Play therapy is how kids work through all of that and dolls are an integral part of the process,” she wrote.
The dolls that she has created for various kids are heartwarming to see.
Thankfully, she has been posting them online. If you see them across social media, the photos will surely leave you with a joyous heart. The smiles on the kids’ faces are priceless.

I can imagine how happy these kids are upon seeing their look-alike dolls. Amy also shared a video of an adorable kid who had a touching reaction upon seeing the doll that was created just for him.
Another one is Hope who got extremely emotional after opening the box of the doll that looks like her.
Surely the parents of these wonderful children are grateful for Amy’s selfless works. Aside from Amy, the kind people who have donated to her fundraising campaign to give happiness to these kids deserve to be thanked.
Many people are also getting moved by Amy’s posts on social media. Some of them are thanking her for coming up with this campaign.
A commenter left a positive comment on one of Amy’s posts.
“Each Doll you make never ceases to amaze me They are so dead-on I just can’t get over it and what a blessing all these kids are in the dolls you maker and how much better all of you make the world.”
Amy is just so kind for spending all her creative energy to spread happiness all over the world. Her outlook towards these kids just made me more amazed by her.
“I am a doll-maker who feels that every kid, regardless of gender, ethnicity, age, medical issue, or body type, should look into the sweet face of a doll and see their own.”
Thank you, Amy Jandrisevits for your heart that just loves to bring delight to others’ hearts.
