Woman rescues “agressive” dog by pulling him from shelter minutes before his final moment

When Mulan was taken to the animal shelter, the volunteers there soon realized that she would be hard to deal with.

Because of her previous experiences, she would not trust anyone and, of course, she wouldn’t let anyone approach her- let alone touch her.

Her temperament earned a bad rep.

She was characterized as an “aggressive” dog and was put on a list for euthanasia unless someone took her in.

The clock was ticking for Mulan.

And, just when it seemed that Mulan’s fate was to be put down, her guardian angel came to save her and give her the chance to live a new life.

When Marcie Moore, a young animal lover, arrived at the shelter, she knew that it wouldn’t be easy to gain Mulan’s trust.

She stayed as close to her as she could, and worked on making the dog feel comfortable around her.

Convincing Mulan to come took hours.

After more than two hours of working on it, she finally was able to get Mulan to leave the shelter with her.

You see, Moore goes to shelters and takes dogs that cannot find a home for various reasons.

She fosters them to make sure they won’t be euthanized and then makes sure to find a forever family for them.

That was step two for Mulan.

And that’s exactly what she planned to do with Mulan, as well, although at that point it seemed impossible.

As Moore explained, the hardest part was to take the dog out of the car, because she just had no idea what was going on.

She didn’t know where she was going or what was about to happen to her.

After a few attempts, Moore managed to get the dog to leave the car and follow her inside the house.

The inside of a house was also something Mulan had never experienced before.

Everything looked scary- especially thresholds.

After letting the dog spend some time alone in a room, Moore returned and found the dog’s bed destroyed.

Mulan had literally been munching it.

She had really made a mess of the room. So, when she saw the woman coming back, she was afraid she would definitely be in trouble.

Little did she know that Moore was not the kind of person who punishes dogs for just being scared, in distress, or feeling anxious.

“I just sat down and I completely ignored the mess,” Moore told The Dodo. “I avoided eye contact because that coule be threatening for some dogs,” she added.

Indeed, Moore kept talking to the dog in a friendly manner, and she even gave her treats.

Well, that was something Mulan would have never seen coming.

And that’s how the dog started feeling more comfortable around Moore, and she even started licking her face and, little by little, she even let her give her belly rubs.

Meeting the woman’s two dogs was another exciting experience for Mulan, who started learning “how to be a dog again”.

A couple of weeks later, Mulan was a completely different dog, ready to love and be loved by her new family.

She has now moved into her forever home and we hope she receives all the love she deserves.
