Thankfully, with the help of tracing devices like microchips, it is now much easier to track and find missing pets.

This dog who ran away from home was found and saved, and it’s all thanks to a microchip.

A missing dog is a missed dog.

This missing dog was found living near a cemetery in Texas, however, the dog was not so welcoming to strangers.

When people would try to go close to the dog, she would growl at them.

Despite that, local residents didn’t stop trying to provide what the dog needs like food, water, and even bedding.

However, they were always careful and maintained quite a distance from the dog to avoid scaring it away.

The residents were worried about the dog’s safety. Given her small size, she could get into a lot of trouble with other bigger stray dogs.

She might end up getting seriously beaten up by other dogs lurking around the area.

The right kind of help.

A concerned citizen who took care of the dog from a distance decided to contact the local animal shelter.

She asked Nicholas Pet Haven for help.

When the rescuers finally arrived at the location where the dog was last seen, they discovered there was another kindhearted person who was helping the dog get by with its everyday needs.

It was Dr. Harshivinderjit S. Bains, an owner of a nearby clinic. He was also giving the poor dog food, water, and a decent bed.

Although he was also given the cold shoulder by the dog who wouldn’t let him get too near its territory.

Just like the residents, Dr. Bains didn’t give up on caring for the dog. He continued meeting the dog’s needs and he hopes that one day, the dog will trust him fully.

He was ready to bring the dog home and foster it since the weather wouldn’t be so kind to homeless animals such as cats and dogs.

It was now or never.

The rescuers didn’t waste a single second.

And, they immediately drove to the scene to rescue the dog.

Since the dog was aloof to people, they set up a trap to lure the distant dog to capture it safely.

Thankfully, they were able to rescue the dog later that night, and shortly after, the rescuers brought the dog to the shelter where she was given the right type of care.

They took care of the dog’s matted hair and burrs all over its body.

The best part after capturing the dog was learning that it was microchipped. Using the information from the microchip, they soon discovered that the dog’s name is Truvy.

The rescuers also called the number on the microchip and Truvy’s owners couldn’t be happier upon learning their dog was safe.

Truvy’s owner, Amy Logan, shared that they had to move to Texas and that’s when they lost the dog.

They believed Truvy squeezed herself out through the iron fence and then ran off.

“[When Truvy went missing,] we immediately canvassed the neighborhood, on foot and in cars,” Amy shared. “For the next few months, I drove, searching for her. I also emailed all the vet clinics, shelters, and rescue groups within 60 miles in case she was picked up by someone that wasn’t local.”

Soon, the reunion was made and Truvy’s owners couldn’t be more thankful to their dog’s rescuers.
