Woman saves a cat with special needs who was abandoned by own mom
Special needs cats may be difficult, but they are worth all the trouble in the world because they become the most wonderful furry pets anyone could ever ask for!
If you have a special needs cat, you know how hard it can be to care for them. They might need extra attention, or maybe their care routine is more complicated than that of a regular cat.

Disabled pets live difficult lives.
Do you know a person who has difficulty walking? Or perhaps they have trouble hearing? If so, you should be aware of the difficulties they face every day.
Sadly, there are many animals that suffer from similar issues. They may have been born with birth defects or other physical complications. Some animals may even have behavioral problems due to their circumstances.

And they all need just as much love.
Regardless of the cause, these pets need extra care and attention from their owners—just like special needs people do!
This reminds us of the story of a cat named Otter.

Otter and his siblings were abandoned by their mom.
Otter is a cat with special needs who was rejected away by his mother. Otter and his siblings were discovered outside, but their mother was nowhere to be found.
Due to a congenital abnormality, both he and his sister Bunny were born without most of their front arms. However, Otter was missing more than that, as his rescuer would later find out.

He had a more critical condition.
After the Good Samaritan who had found and saved them was unable to provide them with the necessary medical attention, Baby Kitten Rescue rescued the pair of kittens when they were only 2 weeks old.
Baby Kitten Rescue’s founder, Caroline, said that they were both gravely ill. She would find out that Otter had an extremely unusual ailment that exposed his brain via a hole in his skull.

And it was very dangerous.
Otter required a means to shield his head because the situation is quite harmful. Thank goodness, one of the rescue’s social media followers offered to create Otter a helmet.
Otter now constantly dons that helmet! Otter is not hurt or uncomfortable while wearing the life-saving device, according to Caroline.

He is the happiest little man ever.
Caroline added that Otter would have surgery to try and repair his condition. He won’t use the helmet anymore since the titanium mesh will seal the opening and safeguard his brain.
Thankfully, the crucial surgery went well and Otter came out of it stronger than ever. What a trooper!

“He still has to wear the helmet for another 1-2 weeks to protect his incision while it heals, but he’s allowed to have supervised time without it to let the incision air out,” Caroline updated.
We are just beyond glad that Otter is now on his way to recovery so he can live his best life yet!
