Woman shares how to make dog art after discovering her German shepherd is quite the artist
Dogs are more than just our companions. They’re our best friend, sibling, and protector. Each day with them is an adventure because they help us unlock new abilities and teach us new things.
One human recently learned that her German shepherd is quite the artist.
Trish, who lives in Queensland, planned on changing the artwork hanging above her fireplace. Her room needed a fresh, new piece of art to match with her decorative theme, so she decided to purchase a $12 printed canvas from Kmart.
“I needed a change of art.” she said in a Facebook post.
You may think that it was Trish who created the artwork, but it was not.
Daisy is Trish’s loyal German shepherd. She’s her trusted companion and best friend. But what most people didn’t know is Daisy is an artist.
Trish encouraged her fellow human owners to try this technique!
“Please DO try this at home,” Trish wrote on the Kmart Hacks & Decor page.
To start the painting process, Trish painted the canvas white to create a clear and blank canvas for Daisy.
A blank canvas will help Daisy unlock her creative mind. Then, she poured different paints onto the canvas, covered it in cellophane, and placed spoonfuls of peanut butter on top.
It was a unique way of getting Daisy to paint!
“I taped up the frame, whitewashed canvas, poured on some paint, covered it in two layers of cellophane, spread some peanut butter over it, and set Miss Daisy to work!” Trish said.
With a delicious treat and a blank canvas, Daisy set to work.
She was excited to paint while licking peanut butter off the cellophane. As she let her creative mind go, she can see that her artwork looked great. At the end of the treat session, she was able to create a unique painting.
Daisy’s artwork has a range of blue tones that spread out in the canvas.
“She did a fabulous job for her first attempt!” KMart fans said.
“This is by far the best thing I have ever seen,” another user said.
The post has gone viral and many users praised Daisy.
Added another: “That is so amazing, you should sign it with his paw print as well. Very memorable.”
Wrote a third: “This is the best hack EVER Daisy, you are a legend!”
Other users in the group were also keen on trying the art-making scheme for their pets.
“Love it. Can I borrow someone’s dog? I think my cats would get bored before it was finished,” one woman wrote.
“I love this! My pups will be doing some art this weekend,” wrote another.
Said another: “Now I need to make my dogs do one each!”
Due to the outpour of love, Trish posted her thanks to everyone who praised Daisy’s artwork.
“Miss Daisy would like to say a big thank you for all of your beautiful comments about her first artwork! I believe her newfound fame may have gone to her head. Please DO try this at home.” Trish said in a Facebook post.
Give her method a try!
