Every day a woman visited this German shepherd stranded in the desert hoping to finally save her

The desert isn’t a place that many of us want to be stuck in. It’s REALLY hot, there are dangerous animals, and the environment isn’t suited for creatures (like us) who aren’t good at finding water. In short terms, it’s a deadly place.

Despite that, one woman went out every day to the sandy plains.

Her reasoning wasn’t for it’s natural beauty or hiking or anything. In fact, it wasn’t for herself at all. It was for a dog that was stranded out there and needed someone to save it.

Lindsey was driving down the road when she saw a dog out in the middle of the desert.

Pulling over, she was astounded. She was in the Mojave desert in California and knew that this dog didn’t belong there. Pulling over, she tried to gain the dogs trust so she could see if there were any issues or ways to help the dog.

The dog wouldn’t let her get close, however, so Lindsey left.

She is quite the determined lady, it seems! The very next day, she came out to check on the dog again. There it was, sitting in nearly the exact same spot! The dog got closer this time, but still wasn’t trusting of the woman.

Instead of getting frustrated, Lindsey just kept on going back!

With some amazing determination, Lindsey knew that she was going to give this dog a good life. Day after day ticked by and the dog slowly but surely started trusting her. With gifts of water and food, the lonely German Shepherd was slowly letting them closer.

Finally, Lindsey’s husband came out and after a week of trying, they were able to catch her!

After coming in from the desert, she was really stressed and it was just going to take some time for the scared dog to open up. They kept bringing her food and water to allow the dog to destress, but it was a process that couldn’t be rushed.

After some time, the dog started letting them touch her and would come inside the door to eat.

It started with head pats, but the dog was slowly allowing humans to be near her! Soon, once she realized that these humans loved her, she opened wide up! She was amazing and loving and was acting completely differently – all it took was a bit of love!

Lindsey loves to rescue animals and even has a TikTok!

This sweet German Shepherd wasn’t the first animal she’s rescued! You can keep up with her rescues on TikTok by following this link here. At the core of it all, it’s amazing to see scared, fearful animals who make radical turnarounds, all because someone takes the time to love them.

From a scared, desert-dwelling dog, to a happy-go-lucky friend!

This is one of those stories that shows just how powerful love is. It quite literally saved this dog’s life and brought out the best side of her. It’s good to get a little encouragement now and again!
