After paying a $400 vet bill, worried owner realizes his dog is limping out of sympathy
There’s no dispute: dogs have the biggest hearts for their owners.
Getting a dog can be one of the greatest decisions we ever make for ourselves. And after we do so, our life may forever be filled with a deep bonding experience. In fact, dogs live to love and please us. It’s what is in their nature. They are great at cuddling, they’re always eager, and they make it their life to serve us. All we can ever do is give the love back to them. Not only that, dogs seem to have a sixth sense when it comes to compassion and empathy.
Enter a dog named Bill. He’s from London. And he has a huge heart.

He belongs to a man named Russell Jones. He walks with a crutch as his right leg is cast in plaster. But where many people would gawk and tease his disability, his loving dog won’t have it.
Bill imitates Jones’ limp on walks out of compassion.
In a video originally uploaded to Facebook, you can see this pair in action. Since being posted, it’s received 39k likes and 54k shares! Originally, Jones thought an injury had befallen his beloved pet, but he no sooner discovered that Bill was merely reflecting his hindered owner.
Jones captioned the video:
“Cost me £300 in vet fees and X-rays, nothing wrong just sympathy. Love him “
In the video, you can witness Bill limping right along, in synch with his owner. He raises his front left paw, faking an injury of his own. Knowing that Bill is okay, it’s heartwarming to witness this act of pure love for his owner. They say that imitation is the highest form of flattery, after all.
Bill is one compassionate canine!
Many viewers have flocked to the comments of the video, delighting in the touching moment.
One commenter declaring:
“He’s copying you. That’s brilliant! Though you have my sympathy for the vet’s bill.”
Another viewer saying:
“I have watched this so many times! Bless him “
This good boy deserves all the extra treats, even if it was to the tune of one hefty vet bill. At the end of the day, his love for Jones rings bright and clear.
The website Cesar’s Way offers some interesting insight on this pooch’s behavior:
“There are a number of different creatures that imitate others within their own species. People imitate other people. Birds imitate other birds. Non-human primates like monkeys and apes imitate others in their group. But dogs not only imitate other dogs—they copy what we do as well. What’s even crazier is that they have been known to do so even when the imitation doesn’t benefit them.”
Bill just wants his owner to feel good!

The website continues:
“Experts think that dogs’ tendency to copy us came about through thousands of years of selective breeding and training. Over time, it grew to become a built-in reaction.”
That is certainly time well spent! Dogs have evolved to become the purest, most loving creatures we could ever imagine! To love us and please us is a life well-fulfilled.
